About the project

We are looking to recruit a Embedded Software Engineer (m/f) based in Katowice, Poland. In this role, you will have responsibilities and a large impact within Mass Transit systems development within Alstom. The Mass Transit team is responsible for development, implementation and maintenance of tram interlocking system, Automatic Train Protection systems for metro, trams and APM's. We are developing our products both using integrated externally components and own developed system components. We are developing software and hardware. Within this team you have a chance to see product development from idea to first commercial ride.

Signalling systems development includes all product life cycle activities such as system analysis, functional decomposition, architecture definition, solution implementation, definition and documentation of required tests, production of appropriate documentation, manufacturing support, ITC support, long time system support, particularly in the area of industrial embedded safety railway products.

Your responsibilities

  • System analysis,

  • Definition of SW architecture and design of interfaces,

  • Design and implementation of software for our embedded products and adjacent code,

  • Verification of requirements and prototypes,

  • Appropriate documentation on all required levels pertaining to both product and process,

  • Design and implementation of execution tests and test setups,

  • Fault tracing and defects removal for solution of customer issues.

Our requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic, Transportation, Automation, IT or equivalent work experience,

  • Relevant previous experience in system integration, testing and writing documentation in development projects,

  • Experience with Safety Critical Development, Embedded Design, Configuration Management and C/C++ and/or C# programming language,

  • Knowledge of requirements management tool (e.g. DOORS),

  • Knowledge of job-specific tools (C, C + +, C #, Linux, makefiles) is desirable,

  • Knowledge of versioning control tools,

  • Basic knowledge in electronic and electrical circuits,

  • Driving license,

  • Readiness for business trips,

  • English language skills required.
