For our global partner, a technology company providing finance teams advanced software solutions we are looking for the Engineering Manager.

The role skilfully combines two areas of software development and people management. In this position you will support Engineering Director by managing the day-to-day operations of the development team.

Your responsibilities

  • Leading the multidisciplinary team by example, guide and coach the team members to the successful delivery of deliverables that are agreed with the Product Organization

  • Collaboration with the Product Organization to ensure engineering is aligned with product strategy, priorities and needs

  • Acting as a first point of accountability for all team related matters (performance, capacity, delivery plans etc.)

  • Building close partnerships with senior leaders, providing a comfort space for difficult conversations around the hard issues and surfacing ‘the truth’.

  • Takes decisions in a strategic context where there are many unknowns, always mindful of existing and emerging company priorities – always thinking of the greater good

  • Ensures agreed standards and engineering best practices are implemented. Such as Regression Testing, Test Automation, Technical Debt handling, CI/CD utilization, Peer Reviewing

  • Creates and drives delivery of a long-term strategy through establishing a clear governance structure with single-point accountabilities.

  • Keeping a close eye on the decision making, risk mitigation and problem-solving processes

  • Promotes and sponsors a culture that supports experimentation, continuous improvement, and innovation.

Employer requirements

  • University Degree in a STEM subject preferred

  • Hands-on experience in your domain and contribution to the technical tasks as a developer, architect, tester, scrum master or within other delivery/engineering domain

  • Passion for playing the engineering leadership role within an agile environment applying agile / lean principles, practices, and theory

  • You are still an engineer at core and like to roll up your sleeves with a passion to lead teams

  • Tech stack: DevOps, Java, AWS (Cloud provider), Kubernetes, Docker

  • Very good interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
