Your responsibilities
In this role you will coordinate the preparation of the consolidated financial statements;
implement IFRS standards and be a main point of contact for IFRS-related queries; develop and maintain the finance manual and chart of accounts and ensure consistent compliance with IFRS and Hitachi Corporate accounting policies; be responsible for ensuring that all controls are adhered to under the internal control framework and J-SOX.
General accounting – month-end and quarter-end close, consolidation of Hitachi Europe subsidiaries and branches, review of actual results
Group reporting to Japan
Consolidation master data maintenance, including GL maintenance
Balance sheet reconciliation preparation and review where appropriate
Investigating accounting queries from Hitachi Europe Country financial controllers and finance managers
Ensuring compliance with IFRS and Hitachi Accounting Policies as part of the monthly closing process
IFRS 15 revenue recognition: contract review, implementation of control and ensuring appropriate revenue recognition.
Supporting internal and external audit review
Preparation of statutory accounts, including ledger bridge
Supporting requests from the tax team and other departments
Ad hoc transactions and supporting RTR projects
Working closely with the country financial controllers/finance managers
Our requirements
Working knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP (where relevant), knowledge of J-SOX is desirable
Accounting qualification required (ACCA, CIMA, Polish GAAP)
Experience in multinational and relevant sector preferred
Computer literate, analytical approach with business sense
Capable of dealing with management in country and various locations
Excellent business acumen and judgement, and demonstrated ability to work closely and build sustainable business partnerships with Finance and other global functions
High level of integrity and ethics
Good communication skills – written and verbal
Highly motivational and can work under pressure and tight deadlines
SAP/BPC experience an advantage
Excellent command of English
