As a Project Leader within the Controlling & Planning Center of Expertise in ABB, you will lead/participate in the design and execution of financial projects and ensure that all related activities are performed in accordance with ABB policy, best practices in controlling area and project management acumen.
You will be enabled to pursue and execute services such as Finance Strategy, Operating Model De-sign, Finance Assessments etc. Upon the team built up completion, we are just entering a simplification, standardization, digitization & optimization journey with our business customers, tailored for their needs, to make their life easier and free up their time to focus on running the business.

Your responsibilities 

  • Responsibility for the conceptualizing, design and end to end execution management of Finance projects for a team of 130 FTEs+, supporting 16 countries in Europe/US.
  • Pro-actively driving, steering and presenting on a portfolio of projects end-to-end to the Pro-ject sponsor, Steco and Leadership Team.
  • Development of new methods and tools to advance Controlling & Planning capabilities within ABB.
  • Support in the preparation of internal and external documentation.
  • Strong collaboration with Controlling & Planning Leadership Team.
  • Scouting for new trends, their evaluation and implementation at ABB.
  • Participating in the Datalake evolution in ABB that has just started.
  • Setting up workshops on various topics, based on a sponsor’s and participants’ inputs.
  • Structuring agendas and moderating those workshops in order to help bring expected value and clear actions with owns and timelines as a result and clear operating rhythm post to track progress.
  • Leading monthly TIP sessions with Controlling & Planning staff, making sure our project list is always up to date and ensuring the quality of input but providing feedback to project owners (sharepoint/MyTeams input, output in Power BI dashboard – both already exist).
  • Implementing simple recognition programme for generating & implementing ideas in the “lean/kaizen” spirit, based on the TIP tool, in order to drive excitement around idea generation.
  • Ensuring quality/continuous performance.

Your background 

  • Total of 8+ years of experience in Finance with a strong background in various controlling areas is a must.
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in management consulting (big 4 and similar) with strong focus on Finance and business related matters.
  • Exceptional project management skills & experience.
  • Exceptional power point skills – not only a technical fluency in the tool but the ability to visualize ideas in power point quickly, following ABB guidelines in terms of formats and schemes. Superior attention to details and graphical perfection.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Hands-on approach to work, strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Experience in large-scale Finance transformation programs of multinational companies.
  • Advanced knowledge in finance processes, operating models, service delivery models.
  • Passion for new trends in digitization, automation and transformation (e.g. big data, agile, new ways of working, cognitive, cloud etc.).
  • Proficiency in business English.
