Your responsibilities

  • Prepare, process and reconcile financial data as per the tasks allocated.

  • Provide timely preparation, processing and reconciliation of all required financial and management information.

  • Processing, preparation and approval of journals and manual adjustments, as per the tasks allocated.

  • Support other team members and team manager to respond to regular and ad hoc requests from finance and non-finance customers.

  • Ensure all work undertaken complies with HSBC policies, procedures and work practices.

  • Ensure no errors based on the self-review and peer review.

  • Take responsibility for the tasks delivered by junior team members.

Our requirements

  • Knowledge:

  • Qualified accountant or relevant university degree.

  • In-depth knowledge of financial principles (IFRS).

  • Financial accounting and control.

  • Knowledge / appreciation of statutory & regulatory reporting requirements, be able to follow processes independently and apply controls to ensure compliance with these.

  • Excellent English both written and verbal.

  • Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a professional work environment (ideally Financial Services or Banking).

  • Skills:

  • Confidence to communicate and build strong relationships with Finance staff at all levels of the Group.

  • Very good knowledge of MS Office (in particular Excel and preferable VBA).

  • Strong analytical ability, tenacity, and sound commercial judgement.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Be able to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Optional

  • In-depth knowledge of the banks systems/structures.

  • Knowledge of central bank regulations.

  • Python skills.
