Your responsibilities

  • Develop detailed design of the TPRM organization and enabling tools / processes, including stakeholder feedback loops; continuously improve via feedback and experience

  • Ensure user feedback from relevant stakeholders across the third-party process (e.g., ecosystem teams, TP relationship owners, support functions such as IT) is regularly collected, and is implemented in iterations of the TPRM risk framework

  • Oversee day-to-day activities to support wider TPRM activities (e.g., managing maintenance of TP-related IT systems, iterating TP-related frameworks such as online workflows, liaising with key stakeholders)

  • Design and deploy firm wide TPRM training programs to build awareness of ecosystem and frontline teams around TPRM and implement TP-related activities

  • Liaise closely with internal IT functions to refine business process design (e.g., tiered assessments) on the IT system in response to user feedback from frontline users

  • Develop and maintain quantitative and qualitative measurements of the firm’s third-party risk appetite and exposure, building on existing approaches

  • Inform the Program VP on the firm’s third-party risk appetite and exposure by tracking and reporting key performance KPIs across Bain’s TP portfolio

  • Regularly work with the Program VP and Program Managers to deploy new initiatives to streamline TPRM process

Our requirements

  • Manager at a Strategy or Big 4 Consulting firm / VP level at a major TechCo, Risk division of an International Bank, or Law firm

  • 7+ years of total professional experience preferred, with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Risk Management (methods, processes, organization, technology)

  • Experience managing a risk team in a transformation-based environment (e.g., managing a system / team involving a large transformation or that required general project management)

  • Demonstrated success as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders

  • Experience developing and deploying ecosystem assets (e.g., alliance partners, advisers)

  • Comfort with analytical tools (Alteryx, Tableau, etc.)

Our strategy requires the development of a third-party ecosystem to differentiate vs. competitors who surpass our scale and scope. As a result, we face an expanding set of third-party risks driven by new types of third parties (e.g., alliance partners, external client advisers), new uses of third parties (in client work and for Bain), and increasing volumes of third-party relationship originations and usage.

To support the rapid scaling of our third-party ecosystem, we are building a central Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) team within our Global Risk Function. This team will be responsible for developing and deploying TPRM capabilities required to align the firm’s third-party risk appetite and exposure.

The Framework Manager, Third-Party Risk Management, will help build and lead Bain’s enhanced TPRM capability, as part of Bain’s Global Risk Function.


You will be part of the TPRM Enablement Team with close interaction with the Program VP of the TPRM team. The enablement team is responsible for the development and maintenance of TPRM-related capabilities, like TPRM Policy Suite, TPRM tool, TPRM Training & reporting to enable Bain & Company on a global basis to be compliant with the Third Party Risk Management approach.

You will also work with our wider ecosystem of Bain teams, such as the Legal and Information Security teams who will support TPRM activities, amongst other teams. Lastly, you will work closely with the Global Risk Function overall to regularly report how risks related to third parties are being managed.


The Framework Manager will initially support the further build of Bain’s TPRM team and capabilities. You will consequently help lead Bain’s enhanced TPRM capability by managing the enabling tools and processes of TPRM-related activities, as part of Bain’s Global Risk Function.

The role will accomplish four major objectives:

1. Develop the enabling capabilities of TPRM by supporting the build of the TPRM enablement team and implementing tools to enable day-to-day risk management processes, in collaboration with TPRM colleagues, technical and wider risk management resources.

2. Further develop the growth of the TPRM enablement team, capabilities, and day-to-day activities to ensure all enabling tools of the TPRM process are operating smoothly (e.g., iteration of TPRM framework, maintenance and configuration of technology systems etc.).

3. Design and deploy firm wide TPRM training programs to build awareness of ecosystem and frontline teams around risk management and relevant risks as Bain’s third-party ecosystem grows.

4. Track key performance KPIs across risk portfolio, and report key findings regularly to Program VP to support control of Bain’s risk appetite and exposure.

While global in scale, the role is based in Warsaw. Note that the majority of the TPRM team will be based in Warsaw, at Bain’s existing capability center. Regional and global travel might be required for coordination purposes.
