Ambitious management task in a local subsidiary of a mid-sized company in the technical building equipment industry
Our client is a German-based, family-run group of companies, which holds an international top position in the field of plant engineering and construction. Highest standards in quality and safety and an innovative portfolio of products and systems are the cornerstones of the company's success. Together with numerous international subsidiaries and locations in Europe, North America and Asia, the company is on course for growth. For the sustainable expansion of the market position in Poland, we are now seeking an experienced professional as General Manager for our client's subsidiary in Poland, located in the Warsaw area.
In this key managerial role, you are responsible for the operational management and strategic development of all corporate activities in Poland. The focus of your task is to sustainably develop the existing local organization, to actively drive new initiatives and actions as well as to ensure the professional support of the customers by the sales team in the field. You will lead and motivate the local team selling technically complex products, systems, equipment, and services, and ensure that defined sales, ROI, and quality goals are met or even exceeded. In this context, you will identify relevant construction projects, present possible application areas and individual solutions to new prospects, cultivate the relationships with customers and build a strong network to important decision-makers (planning offices, developers, general contractors, system manufacturers, etc.) and local authorities. In addition, it is up to you to continuously optimize internal structures and processes and sustainably expand our client's successful market position. Lastly, you will work in close cooperation with the International Sales Team and the respective technical and commercial departments of the headquarters in Germany and report directly to the owner family.
On the basis of an Engineering degree or a relevant technical education, you have gained several years of professional and managerial sales experience in technical products requiring explanation—ideally in the building equipment/building technology industry—knowing what it means to lead a B2B sales unit. You were able to build-up your acquisition and sales competencies and sharpen negotiating skills and intuition, from initiation of new business to contract closure and beyond. On a personal level, you are highly pragmatic, result-driven and able to implement new processes and strategies in a professional manner. Further, detailed technical understanding, an entrepreneurial mindset and excellent communication skills are essential. Due to regular customer visits and participation in (international) trade fairs and meetings, also at the headquarters in Germany, willingness to travel and very good language skills in Polish and English are mandatory.
