Global CLM Product Owner
Location: Kraków

Global Private Banking (GPB) team is dedicated to implementing the GPB strategy to be the leading international Private Bank for business owners and their families, leveraging Group capabilities to enable core HSBC clients and the Next Gen clients to grow, manage and preserve their wealth, thus playing a key role in the Group’s universal banking model.

Global CLM Product Owner is responsible for developing, enhancing and rolling out the Global CLM Product to core GPB CLM locations. This should be done to agreed roadmap milestones and within budget.

The position holder will perform role of Product Owner under agile methodology, collaboratively working and maintaining proactive relationship with a cross-functional team (BA’s, Architects, Designers, developers etc.) for the delivery of product enhancements / changes.

The position holder is also responsible to ensure the incorporation of HSBC’s regulatory and legal standards from global and booking centre perspective, to continuously amend the products in line with global or regional customer needs, to incorporate latest regulatory and technological / market trends, and to support other strategic projects such as Digital from a Global Platform perspective.

Your responsibilities would be to:

  • Actively manage the Global CLM Product Vision (i.e. are we building the right thing?)
  • Drive innovation to ensure that product functionality / capability offered is based on market best practice
  • Actively manage the Global CLM Product Backlog (i.e. prioritizes what gets developed next based on agreed business value)
  • Act as the ‘voice of the business’ to ensure IT teams remain aligned to the Product Vision
  • Provide transparency to the business regarding the product roadmap, product development and high impact changes (e.g. global changes affecting all locations)
  • Pursue global standardization and continuous improvement of the assigned product capability and process design (including process controls)
  • Own process design and change management of any process designs, ensuring these are continuously up to date and consistent with related training material, helpdesk FAQs, etc. PUBLIC - 2
  • Manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for all changes before being released into the production environment
  • Work with training team, elaborate training material / programme for relevant processes
  • Stay accountable for the P&L (or Cost) performance of relevant process

Impact of the role on the Business/Function:

  • Create, own and champion his/her Global CLM product process and roadmap (incl. core milestones) across all relevant booking centers (UK, GUE, CH, LU, HK,SG,FR, DE and Global Service Centers ) in line with GPB’s strategy, priorities and customer needs – in full adherence to Group’s/GPB’s legal and regulatory frameworks
  • Actively contribute and provide input to the further development of the GPB Global Platform Strategy and Proposition – based on the deep understanding of the GPB client needs
  • Coordinate the GPB IT project team to deliver the Global CLM Product involving all relevant stakeholders and contributors in the project team
  • Deliver clear, high level, business requirements to GPB IT, breaking down requirements, working in an agile and collaborative way with IT Product Development team to ensure the faithful delivery of business requirements
  • Define & own the testing strategy for relevant Global CLM Product process or capability
  • Work collaboratively with & support Digital product owners in defining and implementing a digitized client experience for the relevant process.
  • Actively follow key competitors / regulatory trends / market trends in the above mentioned core regions, factoring these into the core process / capability roadmap

  • Build strong relationships on working, middle and senior management level to pursue a collaborative project approach, to foster proper implementation and to manage change at pace with minimum conflict.
  • Stakeholders include, but not limited to the following: GPB Global and Local Product & Services team, Management in above mentioned core locations, Legal, Regulatory Compliance and FCC (global and local level), Operations and IT.
  • Group governance instances relevant to the process / capability for design, control management or other considerations as may be relevant.

  • Regular review to identify key risks, issues and interdependencies. Suggest and apply appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure a balanced focus on operating and regulatory risks and ensure the Virtual Management Team positively identifies and mitigates these in a manner that protects the Brand.
  • Ensure regular and positive engagement with key support functions such as Risk, Legal, and Compliance to ensure alignment of policies and plans necessary to deliver a demanding transformation benefit target.
  • Implementation of Global Standards, Financial Crime Compliance and Risk considerations in an aligned manner within the context of the GPB strategy through operational practice and planned activity.

What is expect of you:

  • Profound knowledge in Private Banking, understanding of PB client needs and behavior in general and for the specific Global Platform product & capability – across all booking centers and for all relevant markets GPB is focusing on.
  • Deep AML / CDD knowledge and experience, especially in the context of Private Banking. Ideally this should come from direct exposure to the GPB CDD Procedures and how they have been implemented within the private bank.
  • Good working knowledge of how Customer AML Risk Ratings are calculated (e.g. FCC RAM within an HSBC context) Deep understanding of how the customer risk ratings are calculated using the FCC RAM.
  • Extensive exposure to client lifecycle management technology within a banking context (Appway and Avaloq being considered ideal).
  • Expertise in dealing with regulatory and legal issues, e.g. cross-border and product distribution topics, relevant for each Global Platform process across all booking centres and all digital channels.
  • Willingness and content-based capability to challenge stakeholders and project team members in a constructive, collaborative way.
  • Deep understanding of agile delivery principles and quality software engineering processes and practices.
  • Hands-on experience leading business analysts, product development teams (UX designers, software engineers and QA engineers) on projects that touch a range of technical platforms (digital, mainframe, server based etc).
  • Extensive experience with the range of product development and deployment activities including identifying opportunities, product discovery, engaging a wide range of functional experts to agree deployment approach, project execution, launch, and post launch performance measurement and management.
  • Proven ability to manage third party partners both in partnership development when required, and ongoing partner management.
  • An entrepreneurial drive, with the ability to deconstruct and solve problems, to investigate drivers and figure out why things happen, ability to drive strategy into action.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationship across stakeholder groups on different levels with the ability to effectively influence and communicate across various business lines.
  • Internal and in particular external client focussed, results based approach, able to deliver to deadlines.
  • Demonstrates flexibly when addressing shifting or competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to influence broad teams with diverse background in a project management environment.
  • Management responsibility for Business Analyst(s) in own and adjacent areas.
  • Bachelor’s degree or above preferable.
