Your responsibilities
- Reporting to the Global Commodity Manager based in the headquarter in France, you are in charge of the purchasing strategy of your commodities (~40M€/year, mostly metal components and also electrical components) for all our 28 plants in EU, and according to the directives of the Purchasing Department.
- Introduce new suppliers in order to improve the performance of your own suppliers base.To do so, you work closely with the Supplier Quality Department (audit, visit);
- Provide a competitive supplier base to acquisition & program buyers, to contribute to our order intake target as well as program savings;
- Deal with periodic negotiations with your suppliers;
- Implement a performance plan (savings) for your commodities;
- Support acquisition & program buyers in their daily job if needed;
- Support supply chain teams and plant buyers, in case of logistic issues;
- Cooperate with plant buyers in order to identify local competitive sources;
Our requirements
- With a technical background or a commercial training (business school), you have at least 3 years' experience in an industrial/automotive environment, as a buyer;
- You ideally have some technical knowledge in the areas for which you will be responsible for (metal components mostly);
- You will work in a matrix organization (acquisition, program, commodity - 35 people in EU), inside a family owned company, having ambitious objectives, with a very reactive organization and short reporting lines;
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Being fluent in English is essential;
