Your responsibilities

  • To manage and perform the periodic reconciliations of the transaction reporting submissions to Regulators back to the core trading records of EMEA entities to identify and document any discrepancies and anomalies and to investigate these through to resolution, providing a clear audit trail of the explanation for the difference and any corrective action that is necessary. If a technical issue has been identified, raise this through the agreed Incident Management framework and track its resolution. Take responsibility for preparing a summary of findings and actions required for submission through the governance.

  • To manage the periodic quality assurance testing process with external third party and analyse the results produced. Compare the errors and queries identified in the current period to those highlighted in the previous period and cross-check to the Incident log to identify already known issues and those that are new. For a new issue, raise this through the agreed Incident Management framework and track its resolution. Take responsibility for preparing a summary of findings and actions required for submission through the governance.

  • Performing rolling periodic spot-checks of regulatory transaction submissions to the agreed schedule of trade scenarios across a range of different asset-classes and transaction types, to identify any differences in what was reported to the expected results. Where any anomalies are identified, investigate and if a technical issue has been identified, raise this through the agreed Incident Management framework and track its resolution. Take responsibility for preparing a summary of findings and actions required for submission through the governance.

  • Take responsibility for the production of the monthly governance packs for the Regulatory Reporting Control Committee, including the collation of the MI and performance metrics highlighting the points of relevance, preparing a summary of decisions to be made and providing spot-light reports on agreed topics. Support the administration of the meeting by the arranging of meetings, distribution of content and production of the minutes.

  • Support the wider team in the investigation of technical issues and the testing of system solutions.

Our requirements

  • University bachelor’s degree or higher

  • Relevant working experience/understanding of Operations, Risk & Control, Regulations and Finance. Private Banking experience beneficial

  • Proven experience in defining problems, analysing causes, assess options and find effective solutions; ability to relate to people at all levels both internally and externally

  • Self-motivated, driven and delivery focused,

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with a high attention to detail

  • Highly adaptable with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently

  • Must possess good interpersonal, communication and analytical skills and be both a strong written and verbal communicator

  • Knowledge of Private Banking or Wealth Management businesses and / or wider HSBC Group beneficial

  • Knowledge of investment instruments and products beneficial

  • Strong IT skills (Excel, PPT, Word)

Additional Information

  • The Global Private Bank (GPB) has obligations under regulations such as Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (MiFID II) and European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) to provide reporting to the markets and Regulators. These obligations have created a range of new activities and processes that are required to support the GPB delivery, which require specialist knowledge and capabilities which will be embedded in this role.

  • The purpose of the role is to support the governance and control framework that monitors the effectiveness of the market and regulatory reporting obligations across EMEA entities and to support the wider team in the performance of these reporting activities.
