Your responsibilities

  • Oversight of Operational Risk issues which exist globally and within local Booking Centres.

  • Assistance with the collation and production of Operational Risk and other MI including global reporting of all risk and control assessments, issue remediation and incident reports.

  • Sharing Operational Risk issues identified in Local Booking Centres with other Booking Centres to provide a read-across of issues to identify common occurrences and prevent repetition of the same issues.

  • Owning, managing and resolving relevant issues raised via reviews conducted by Audit, Regulatory Compliance, Sales Quality, etc

  • Preparing Global IPG (Investment and Products Group) BCC pack materials, and assist with the drafting of key update and decision papers relating to operational risk matters

  • Assist with root cause analysis of Sales Quality review exceptions, high severity issues and high impact incidents, in order to identify control gaps which may exist in either global or local processes.

  • Coordinating the remediation of operational risk issues and control gaps which exist in global and local processes, by coordinating working groups and tracking remedial actions.

  • Design and implement consistent control frameworks, documenting global procedures as required. Support business readiness for global outsourcing arrangements.

  • Support ownership of business continuity planning for global outsourcing arrangements.

  • Working with key stakeholders across the Three Lines of Defence to ensure that the suitability framework remains compliant with regulatory requirements at the global level and at the local level working with local suitability leads.

  • Work with monitoring functions, Risk and Control Owners across the Three Lines of Defence to ensure that material risk and suitability related issues are being effectively addressed on a timely basis.

  • Monitor effective risk based enterprise management/ key risk indicators to provide oversight of the effectiveness of the suitability framework across GPB.

  • Contribute to investigations into suitability related concerns arising from, for example, KRI monitoring, Sales Quality results, CMAT (Compliance Monitoring and Testing) reports etc.

  • Analysing complex operational risk issues, and making recommendations to Senior Management regarding tactical and strategic action which should be taken.

  • Attending relevant GPB governance Committees such as the IPG Business Control Committee, as required.

  • Assisting with all, and any, aspects of the wider Global IPG COO (Chief Operating Office) Team, as and where required. This may involve Product Management of the respective Asset Classes; or Implementation of Regulatory Projects.

  • Working with Booking Centres to coordinate urgent data requests and measure exposure to operational risk issues.

Our requirements

  • Understanding of operational risk frameworks and a strong interest in managing operational risk within a business role.

  • An understanding of investment, banking, credit and insurance products and services.

  • Experience of producing high quality management information reports, preferably using Qliksense.

  • Experience of defining and writing process and procedures.

  • Practical experience working alongside global product/business management teams

  • Strict deadline management with junior project management discipline

  • Ability to work independently and manage business as usual tasks while also progressing elements of various projects

  • Effective presentation, interpersonal, negotiation, communication and analytical skills.

The purpose of this role is to support and assist with developing and maintaining the risk oversight and suitability framework that supports all products and services (advisory, discretionary and execution only; banking, credit and insurance) offered by GPB (Global Private Bank).
