Your responsibilities

  • Facilitate & support senior management decision making by the use of management information, performance

  • information, analytics, forums, stakeholder feedback and HSBC strategy

  • Participation in forums and committees to represent view of business area

  • Participation in devising and monitoring of internal governance activities

  • Supporting Control Owners in the execution of their continuous monitoring activity.

  • Validate the design and operating effectiveness of the key controls through inspection, inquiry, observation, sampling, re-performance and recalculation.

  • Review of risks and key controls through end-to-end process walkthroughs, events or thematic reviews, data-driven reviews or issue read across, and evidence reviews.

  • Carry out activities to help ensure control assessments are accurate, effective, comply with procedures and templates, and meet quality control requirements.

  • Assist with the promotion of accountable risk and control decision-making based on quality data and commercial analysis

  • Assist with the provision of specialist risk and control knowledge and insights

  • Assisting with efforts to continuously improve the control environment and monitoring of risk, including behaviours

  • Identify trends to anticipate future developments in the risk and control environment

  • Actively challenge poor, inefficient or excessive controls, related tasks and behaviours

  • Participate the development and implementation of future-fit risk management frameworks

  • Assist with Influencing and shaping the development of regulatory frameworks in collaboration with internal parties

  • Identify trends to anticipate future developments in the risk and control environment

  • Promote desired behaviours and a positive risk culture across the remit area

Our requirements

Required:

- Broad knowledge of GTRF and other commercial banking products

- Broad knowledge of group and GTRF strategy. An appreciation of the global nature of the Group’s business

Desirable:

- Strong understanding of the international business trade cycle and the business processes involved when importing and exporting.

- Strong understanding of the GTRF product and process.

- Risk Management related Professional Qualification

Skills:

- Strong leadership with good communication and interpersonal skills, with excellence in project and time management

- Strategic thinking and high level of business acumen and commercial awareness

- Strong change focus and ability to manage change

- Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills

- Ability to cope with pressure in a dynamic, fast growing and moving environment

- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities at the same time

- Demonstrates sound commercial judgment and strategic

About the role

The GTRF Controls Office Manager is responsible for assisting with the effective governance and management of non-financial risks in the First Line of Defence.This job provides specialist risk and control advice and/or support, challenges and insights, promoting risk and control monitoring and decision-making.
