– Provide daily support for critical problems, to world wide, high profile IBM customers, using Netezza Performance Server, Integrated Analytics Systems or PureData for Analytics systems
– Manage client expectations and understanding the nature of the issue in terms of technical impact and pervasiveness
– Use technical problem solving skills in collaboration with other teams to prioritize and diagnose problems to complete resolution
– Increase personal technical knowledge by reading trade publications, operating manuals, and diagnostics information.
– Share knowledge with internal and external customers by creating technical documentation, blogs, technotes
– Act as a Subject Matter Expert for one or more areas


– University graduate of Computer Science or equivalent
– Experience in a customer facing role
– Practical experience with an industry standard RDBMS (e.g. DB2, Oracle, SQL Server)
– Practical experience with Linux (development, support or administration)
– Practical experience with shell scripts (Bash, Perl)
– Excellent communication and collaboration skills to operate effectively in a global engineering and support environment
– Strong analytical and problem solving/decision making skills
– Excellent customer handling manners
– Stress resistance and multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
– Ability to learn new skills and pick up new technologies quickly.
– Good command of English

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
– Understanding of network and storage technologies
– Understanding of enterprise server hardware components
– Experience in providing consultancy to customers on complex matters
