Your responsibilities

  • PM Group plans to appoint a Head of Health and Safety for Poland, reporting to the Polish Managing Director. Working with the Group Head of Health and Safety you will be accountable for PM Group’s Health and Safety performance in Poland and for developing the stature and impact of the Health and Safety function across the project lifecycle and services.

  • Developing Health and Safety Leadership & Culture across PM Group Poland.

  • Reporting to the Polish Leadership team on the company’s health and safety programme and performance.

  • Implementing and developing PM Group’s Health & Safety Policy and ISO 45001 certified health & safety management system across the Polish Business Unit and Operations.

  • Managing and developing health and safety personnel to meet the needs of the Polish business unit and services.

  • Maintaining, delivering and expanding PM Group’s health and safety training programme, workshops and awareness briefings in design risk management and site health and safety.

  • Supporting proposal, procurement and site activities.

  • Developing project-specific health & safety strategies programmes and plans.

  • Managing on-site construction and commissioning health and safety activities and resources

  • Implementing and developing PM Group’s behavioural safety programme, mental health and wellbeing supports.

  • Providing specialist health and safety support and advice to the Operations teams including legal responsibilities with respect to occupational safety, health and welfare.

  • Providing specialist health and safety advice to the project teams across the project life cycle, leading EHS related project reviews and managing the execution of health and safety related statutory duties.

  • Monitoring and reporting on health and safety performance and challenges across the project lifecycle and services using appropriate health and safety performance indicators.

  • Implementing health and safety monitoring through audits and inspections of workplace, site conditions and contractor activities.

  • Implementing appropriate and effective incident management mechanisms and communicating with the relevant national and statutory bodies and other third parties.

Our requirements

  • Primary Degree in Engineering, Science or equivalent, in conjunction with recognised higher education or a postgraduate qualification in occupational health and safety.

  • Chartered member of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) or equivalent qualification would be an advantage

  • An advanced knowledge of design and construction health and safety principles with proven technical skills in occupational safety and health disciplines with a minimum 10 years’ experience in the management of H&S on large-scale construction projects.

  • Experience operating at the level of Chief Specialist in occupational health and safety.

  • Experience and proven capability in developing and implementing world class health and safety management systems across the project lifecycle including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, handover and operation stages.

  • Experience in developing and implementing behavioural safety programmes

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Polish; strong influencing and negotiation skills.

  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence at senior management level within an organisation
