Your responsibilities

  • In your role as a HSE Advisor Poland you’ll be a part of our HSE team delivering industry leading HSE advice and support across our growing Polish Onshore Renewables business (Wind, Solar, Storage). Your main focus will be acting as a Specjalista BHP according to Polish legal requirements working with our operational-facing teams on HSE matters, including conducting site visits & inspections, supporting construction and maintenance activities, developing HSE processes and documents, as well as conducting trainings and coaching.

  • Working in a global business, you will have the opportunity to actively engage with your colleagues in other regions and technologies to drive continuous improvement and a culture of care within the wider organization.

  • Manage, coordinate, advise and support the provision of health, safety and environmental-related assistance for our business at development, construction and operation stage including interfacing with authorities

  • Proactively support and advise staff as well as management in meeting their HSE responsibility and the development and promotion of an excellent HSE culture

  • Support effective implementation and continuous improvement of the Polish HSE Management System

  • Ensure legal HSE requirements are identified and considered, and achieving compliance is supported and evaluated on a regular basis

  • Conduct Root Cause Analyses in a self-reliant manner incl. consultation/cooperation with the respective authorities/entities in charge

  • Provide safety related trainings and courses based on focus analyses in order to qualify and skill relevant staff in terms of health, safety or environmental topics

  • Conduct and improve HSE walks, inspections and audits pursuant to Polish HSE legislation as well as RWE HSE governance requirements to check and ensure conformity with the law/ RWE requirements

  • Conduct and support risk and hazard assessments and derive actions

Our requirements

  • Successfully completed educational studies (M.Sc./Diploma) in a relevant subject area (engineering-related/safety/risk engineering or similar studies) or a technical education (e.g. electrician, operations & maintenance) with further HSE-specific qualifications or equivalent

  • Qualification as Specjalista BHP as well as comprehensive job experience in HSE (> 3 years) and HSE-specific qualifications, preferably in the Energy/Renewables energy sector

  • Good working knowledge of Polish Health & Safety and Environmental legislation

  • Experience in implementing an HSE Management System, preferably aligned with ISO 14001, 45001 or similar

  • Analytical and conceptional skills

  • Very good command of written and spoken English and fluent Polish, additional languages of advantage

  • High degree of self-directed initiative and personal responsibility and decision-making competence

  • Pronounced team spirit and good communication and presentation skills
