Hydraulics and Drainage Designer

Currently we are actively seeking a creative and highly talented Hydraulics & Drainage Designer for newly established GDS based in Warsaw.
Work is expected to result in the development of new or refined engineering methods as a part of the Hydraulics & Drainage practice group.
Assessing the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluations when necessary data are insufficient.
Conducting peer review and making technical presentations.
Driving quality control of the work performed (reports, calculations, drawings, etc.) assuming its responsibility.
Working as part of a Hydraulics & Drainage team with other designers at the same functional level.
Coordinating and leading small design teams focused on a specific sub-discipline for a specific Project.
Performing different hydrologic and hydraulic studies covering at least one of the following fields: flood risk analysis, drainage design for linear infrastructures (culverts, channels, scour protection, etc.), water utilities (storm water & wastewater / water supply / Irrigation, etc.); storage devices & pumping stations; etc.
Conducting none complex value engineering evaluations, determining alternative designs, materials, building techniques.
Undertaking non-routine, medium complex projects.
Providing some technical discussions with internal clients for none complex / medium Projects.
Making decisions independently on engineering problems related to Hydraulics & Drainage practice group.
Carrying out standard to novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
Thinking and working independently.
Delegating work to, mentors, trains, and supervising less experienced staff to complete assignments.
Comply with statutory, project and AECOM-specific health and safety requirements
Based from Warsaw, the availability to travel will be required to go to other GDS offices and international clients’ offices
Proven track record of working on hydraulics and drainage studies and collaborating with international and multi-cultural teams.
Experience working with international regulations and standards related to hydraulic and drainage designs.
Proficient in various software packages for hydraulic and hydrology analysis such as:
Hydrologic/hydraulic and flood risk engineering: DHI Mike 21/FM/Flood, Infoworks ICM,
Hec-RAS, Hec-HMS, etc.
Drainage and stormwater / Wastewater: SWMM, Infoworks CS, SewerGEMs, MikeUrban, HY8, Hydraulic ToolBox, SSA,
Pressurized pipes (water supply and irrigation): EPANET, WaterCAD, WaterGEMs, Water Hammer, WANDA, etc.
Proven commitment to Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System.
Demonstrable management skills and presence
Fluent in English and Polish (oral and written)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Min. 6 years of professional experience in civil and infrastructure projects, working on hydraulics and drainage design
Experience working in the North America region will be considered favorably
US Professional Engineer license will be considered favorably
Working knowledge and understanding of the external environment that influences success
- Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University
