    JPMorgan Chase seeks to do business with suppliers who provide the best price, quality and capability to meet our business needs.  Global Supplier Services (GSS) brings together Sourcing, Third Party Oversight, Procurement Operations, and Accounts Payable into one team.  This group of nearly 800 employees (in 11 countries) manages the source to pay processes for JPMorgan Chase and provides a governance model which includes strong risk management practices, enhanced performance monitoring, greater scale and strong client engagement. The GSS team works proactively with Line of Business (LOB) colleagues to identify capable suppliers, lead the competitive sourcing process and negotiate contracts with selected suppliers.  Leveraging firm-wide buying power and controlling risk are consistent overarching goals.  GSS then ensures that the contracted goods and services can be obtained by our employees in an efficient, cost-effective manner globally. The JP Morgan Global Supplier Services Operations team is a centralized operational group within Global Supplier Services that manages procurement operations, corporate accounts payable operations, travel & entertainment claim processing, accounting & indirect tax operations.
    Indirect Tax Analyst

    As part of GSS Operations, the Indirect Tax Operations team manages indirect tax activities for the firm (e.g. VAT, GST, US Sales & Use Tax) as well as US Personal Property Tax and various withholding and reporting regimes globally. As an associate within the team the candidate will be responsible for supporting any and all of these functions as required.     
     
    Principle Duties and Responsibilities 
    • A keen Individual with a knack of managing relationships with multiple stakeholders across businesses along with capabilities of successful running operations in multiple locations.  
    • An effective individual in establishing performance driven culture; directing and training team for successful operations & experience of developing service standards for business excellence.  
    • Assist in the preparation of data for indirect tax and statutory filings, according to strict deadlines, to regulators across the globe.  
    • Support the in country tax team in filing tax returns and various tax reporting’s on a periodic and adhoc basis.  
    • Monitoring and reporting reconciliations on financial transaction data, undertaking analysis and interpretation to identify and/or resolve breaks and issues which could have a tax impact  
    • Work on projects to implement new tax rules and regulations as necessary  
    • Ensure issues are raised / escalated promptly and ownership taken to drive through to resolution.  
    • Operate with a control focus, ensuring risks and dependencies are highlighted, with mitigation options presented. 
    Knowledge and Skills
    • Functional understanding of indirect taxes   
    • Good analytical skills, a problem solver and logical thinker with strong attention to detail.
    • Strong verbal and written English language communication skills  
    • Good MS Office suite skills (Excel, Word, Power Point). SharePoint and Access knowledge is an advantage,  
    • Ability to work with, and use, large amounts of data in organized and effective manner.  
    • Good time management and prioritization skills including the ability to work within strict deadlines.   
    • Ability to multitask.      
    Qualifications
    • Degree or significant previous equivalent work experience is preferred.  
    • 5+ years finance experience
