Your responsibilities

  • Defining, implementing and maintaining a monthly demand planning cycle and associated processes, the output of which is an agreed and aligned demand forecast plan that can be executed by IFS (Maersk Drilling’s ERP system)

  • Implementing strategic plans for fleet wide inventory, specifically operational, project, & onshore kept inventory

  • Maintaining the global inventory policy including: Classification of products (stock / non stocked, criticality, etc.), Optimisation of inventory levels, re-order points, order size, Support global set-up of inventory in IFS

  • Consolidating consumption and forecast data to create a single demand forecast

  • Leading and documenting monthly safety stock meetings with the agreed stakeholders in the Technical Organisation and Operations

  • Maintaining a record of forecast developments for stakeholder communication and traceability purposes

  • Establishing of KPI monitoring and following up processes, to highlight inventory movement, benefits tracking, and define necessary action plans.

  • Reviewing and assess global inventory (regardless of owning entity), and strategising solutions to reduce overall maintained inventory value

  • Building strong relations and align strategic direction with Operations, and Finance.

  • Establishing a positive and constructive dialogue to maintain a high level of Service and Operational up-time

  • Creating Analysis to understand inventory movement, including recommendation and next steps

Our requirements

  • You have experience as a Supply Chain (Supply/Demand) Planner or similar related to spare parts planning, ideally related to industrial equipment or the oil & gas industries

  • You have strong analytical and problem solving abilities

  • You have a diplomatic approach and open/‘out-of-silo’ mind-set with the ability to build successful relationships across functions and with all stakeholders

  • You have the ability to work in an international context

  • You have a proven track record of leading and delivering efficiency improvements

  • You have good organizational skills and you are a communicator with solid interpersonal skills

  • You have strong capabilities in analyzing using excel. SQL capabilities is a strong advantage

  • You have a high level of energy, and you appreciate a dynamic and fast-paced work environments

General Description:

As a Inventory (Planning) Specialist in Maersk Drilling you are responsible for the optimization of inventory and inventory control parameters to support the operations and activities of the Maersk Drilling fleet, in accordance with Global Inventory Management’s objectives and strategy: Demand Driven Supply Chain.

As Inventory (Planning) Specialist, you will drive the establishment and implementation of new planning processes and governance to balance supply, demand, and inventory. You will build Maersk Drilling’s capability to efficiently forecast and plan inventory requirements to support maintenance events, both planned and unplanned. You will also need to work closely with other key stakeholders from Maersk Drilling’s North Sea & International Divisions, Integrity & Projects, & Finance to achieve this.

This position supports the corporate Global Inventory Management function, reporting into the Inventory Management Team Lead, anchored within Maersk Drilling’s Supply Chain Management function.
