Your responsibilities

  • Supporting the full scope of the IPG COO (Investment and Products Group Chief Operating Office) Proposition & Strategy team – primarily through:

  • Working with Head of IPG as part of the Business Management support team – managing the creation of timely execution of communication strategies across multiple stakeholder groups

  • Analysis of complex problems (both global & local); generating insight, and feasible / creative recommendations, through engagement with key stakeholders, considering all aspects and consequences

  • Acting as a conduit across initiatives, with an understanding of the GPB strategy, strengths, weaknesses and the external marketplace, to inform business decisions and create competitive advantage

  • Documenting findings, to:

  • support engagement with our delivery partners; and

  • provide clear problems, options and recommendations, to enable Senior Management understanding and decision making

  • Take ownership of Proposition delivery lead roles in major projects and change initiatives, in line with IPG objectives, and/or acting as delegate to Delivery Leads colleagues within the Proposition & Strategy team, on the major change initiatives of IPG

  • Supporting the co-ordination of efforts across the team, helping prioritise tasks to those with most meaningful impact

  • Work in partnership with IPG functions such as Product Development & Governance, Global Products, Advisory, Managed Solutions, IPG Global Head Business Manager, Chief Control Office, Transformation, Finance, etc. as appropriate with regard to delivering growth, strategic and operational initiatives

  • Collaborate with other GPB (Global Private Bank) Booking Centres in delivering growth initiatives as relevant to make sure there is global consistency and synergy

  • Driving the pricing based activity across 2 areas and as such drive direct immediate and long term commercial benefits for the bank:

  • Fair Value Exchange Execution: Strengthening FVE Execution by supporting local markets through a range of strategic projects.

  • Commercial Growth: Focusing on the strategic leverage of pricing to deliver revenue uplift,. Both

  • Tactically – Supporting the bottom up analysis, to identify anomalies and generate immediate opportunities for RoA uplift; and

  • Strategically – Coordinating the development of top down design to maximising greatest return on our products and services over the longer term.

  • Designs pricing growth plan, and executes in partnership with internal and external stakeholders across Global and Local

  • Engages consultants brought in to support pricing initiatives - holding them to account and ensuring RoI

  • Measures and monitors the impact of the pricing initiatives to track progress, and inform future effort

  • Work with Regulatory Compliance to ensure initiatives meet regulatory requirements Private Bank products and services are distributed to clients in compliance with laws and regulations

  • Input into governance fora on strategic and operational initiatives, including writing and presenting papers and providing both written and verbal updates

Our requirements

  • University bachelor’s degree or higher

  • Proven track record as an outstanding analyst or consultant

  • Overall financial services industry knowledge with specific functional expertise, of the Private Banking and/or Wealth Management industry, the client needs, competitive environment and market trends

  • Strong experience and/or knowledge of internal communication in a global organisation

  • Proposition development and implementation experience highly desirable

  • Proven experience in an environment that demands organisational agility and getting results through effective management of processes; possess capacity to define problems, analyse causes, assess options and find effective solutions; ability to relate to people at all levels both internally and externally:

  • Extensive experience of using multiple analysis techniques in a change environment, with a mix of business, Operations and technology focused projects

  • Excellent communication, inter-personal and negotiating skills

  • Excellent decision making and problem solving ability

  • Advanced judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems

  • Proven ability to work across regions whilst maintaining a global perspective

  • Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and sponsors

  • Sell motivated, driven and delivery focused, with a good understanding of project management disciplines and techniques

  • Very strong administrative, management and presentational skills

  • Highly organised with very exemplary attention to detail

  • Highly adaptable with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently

  • Knowledge of GPB Strategy and the Group beneficial

  • Strong IT skills (Excel, PPT, Word)

  • Certificate in Investment Management and/or other recognised professional banking/investment qualifications beneficial

The Proposition & Strategy team, within the Investments and Products Group COO (Chief Operating Office), will play a critical role in supporting the Head of IPG, and the Head of IPG (Investment and Products Group) COO, in shaping and delivering the strategic aims of the function, and communicating these to the IPG community and wider GPB business, focusing on:

• the design of a coherent IPG proposition across all IPG business lines, aligned to the GPB strategy; and

• addressing pricing as critical commercial lever for the bank.

A Senior Manager within the team will be fundamental in supporting all aspects of the team's scope – informing the development of products, services and capabilities in GPB, and ensuring they align to our value proposition and strategy – driving improved client experience and commercial outcomes

The role holder will have no direct reports and will report functionally to the Head of Proposition of IPG Proposition and Strategy, COO.
