Join us as a Systems Business Analyst.

Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting Systems Business Analyst to join our Innovation Lab team. In this role you will function as liaison between technical and business user groups. You will interpret what the users need and translate those requirements into detailed specifications; take part in solution design, development, testing and production deployment. You will be part of a highly focused team of innovators who solve business problems using different flavors of algorithms including but not limited to Machine Learning, Linear Programming, and Robots.

Your responsibilities

  • Facilitate communication between business users and technical teams

  • Analyze business requirements and create functional specifications for application developers which may include data modelling, dataflow diagramming, screen design, workflow analysis

  • Act as the subject matter expert for assigned business applications and business lines

  • Involve in design and development process; including: Participate in Product Roadmap definition process; Maintain Product Backlog; Facilitate estimation sessions with the development teams; Facilitate SCRUM ceremonies: Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews; Validate that the delivered features meet the specified requirements; Run Product Demo sessions

  • Act as systems project coordinator for assigned projects/co-operate with project manager, including tracking to project milestones, ensuring proper SDLC documentation exists, creating formal requests for software changes, coordinating implementation playlists with technical lead/developers

Our requirements

  • Good understanding of financial instrument characteristics (e.g. equities, mutual funds, bonds, swaps, options)

  • Expert analytical skills

  • Great communication and organizational skills

  • Financial services experience and related business knowledge

  • Understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle

  • Fluent English

  • Experience with/interest in Robotics Process Automation and Machine Learning

  • Technical knowledge (e.g. programming skills, knowledge of SQL, database design, infrastructure, system integration methods) is preferred
