About the project
We are currently looking for an experienced IT Business Manager to join our EMEA Business Management Team to support with all IT COO and Business Management related activities with the MENAT Region for WPB Technology. The scope would cover 6 MENAT countries and the role will be reporting to the EMEA WPB Tech Senior Business Manager.
The role of the IT Business Manager (BM) will have the overall responsibility for the governance, control, People, Structure, cost, budget, Charges to Business, Strategic Planning Cycle (SPC) and overall execution of the Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) Technology vision.
Additional processes include: cost management for both direct and indirect cost, operational metrics, portfolio management, People and Location Strategy. The role also implements and enforces standards and compliance to Group and internal controls and assists in keeping track of the costs and budget for MENAT.
BM will lead or take ownership of business activities, supporting EMEA CIO and Technology Products Heads with non-BAU activities, cyclical work pieces such as monthly/annual reporting and short term initiatives.
The role expects to possess knowledge of financial budgeting, strategic planning, communication, people and stakeholder management.
Oversight and review of Tech Charges to MENAT WPB (circa $173M) ensuring that Business and Country COOs have clear visibility to the overall Tech charges, and help address any disputed charges. This is in addition to the close monitoring of our Direct Cost Forecast and Actuals (circa $23M).
Your responsibilities
Financial Reporting and MI
Direct Cost: Review actuals and reforecast wherever necessary and address target gaps
CttB: Address any Charges to the Business queries and resolve any CAM disputes
Finance Process Improvement: help ensure processes like accruals, provisioning and invoice payments are managed seamlessly
Rates & Recoveries: review all local governed suppliers rates and ensure that they are properly recovered
Change the Bank (CTB) & Run the Bank (RTB) Management Lead
Software Capitalization (SCT), Accruals & Impairments
Cost efficiency and management
Strategic Planning Cycle (SPC/AOP): Help implement the EMEA Strategic Planning Cycle including facilitation of BP setup, CAM reviews, … etc
3rd Party Management
Cost Board approval process consultancy (ITCM/TPS) and tracking to ensure all renewals are completed on time
Vendor Relationship: Punctual settlement of invoices for our Vendors
Workforce Governance Partnering: act as a consultant for any 3rd party engagement queries from our Tech Teams
Procurement: Understanding of how to engage with Procurement and help guide our Tech team how to use Emptoris and the necessary steps from engaging Procurement until onboarding the vendor
Fusion / PO: Understanding of the process to help support our teams and guide them whenever necessary
TPRM (Third Party Risk Management): Ensure all Third Party Risk are addressed and findings are addresses as per the agreed dead lines
Supply Chain Optimisation (SCO): Identify opportunities to optimize our 3rd party network of vendors
Contract approvals and renewals: Ensure all 3rd party contracts spend are approved by ITCM prior signing them. Also ensure that all contract renewals are tracked and renewed before their expiry dates

Our requirements
University graduate preferably with a degree in IT or Finance
Previous background of working in a matrix organisational structure with global stakeholders
Credible, has energy to sustain the right focus and build consensus with a large and senior stakeholder group, working under pressure with multiple and conflicting demands
Ability to actively engage with WPB global business functions to deliver to business needs
Effective written and spoken communication skills in English
Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint are a must
Ability to distil complex and varied data into information combined with excellent communication skills in order to present back to key stakeholders
Excellent process analysis, problem solving and financial management skills
Self-motivation, and a proven rapid learning capability in a changing matrixed environment
Optional
Previous experience with HSBC internal systems and Financial Tools such as Cognos, Pioneer, GPDM, Clarity
An active user of Confluence and Jira with enough experience to manage the team’s data and MIs through both tools
A strong influencer who challenges the status quo backed with reliable data analysis and trends
Ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with business heads, senior managers, third party consultants, technical experts across the whole department and business users
Evidence of delivery in a similar role within a global organisation
Well-organized, self-starter and detail oriented person who is able to work under pressure and minimum supervision
Efficient, reliable and meticulous in supporting various governance forums with the distribution of pre-meeting packs as well as documenting outcomes (minutes)

The governance cycle of a number of forums will result in tight submission deadlines at times.
