About the project

The Business Operations IT Manager role is to connect business functional group opportunities with IT solutions. The manager will partner with the business functional group community that serves the regional business by improving process and systems, as well as manage the work of 5 direct reports, focused on the areas of Supply Chain, Finance, Sourcing & Fiber Supply, HR, Legal & Corporate Affairs. This involves conceptualizing, justifying and leading a variety of IT projects with support from the business functional groups, finding innovative uses of either existing or emerging technologies, as well as the development of direct reports and managing the budget.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse team of 9 IT professionals (including 4 direct reports, 1 team lead with 4 direct reports) that collaborate with the business and IT colleagues to maintain and support key commercial business processes and applications, and deliver new and/or enhanced IT solutions and services to our business partners

  • Act as a liaison with the business/process owner and Information Technology to coordinate the delivery of information technology solutions and services to the business

  • Identify, justify, plan and execute project and enhancements through either direct leadership or via resources either within the team, or elsewhere in IT outside of the direct span of control.

  • Drive improvements in how IT delivers solutions and services for our business partners, including but not limited to speed and methodology of delivery

  • Complete functional/business process analysis, requirements collection and definition, solution design and documentation of IT enabled business processes through direct management and/or through direction of direct reports

  • Provide business, process and/or IT support solve technical problems as needed

  • Analyze complex user information flows and needs

  • Drive collaborative IT/Business solutions which further enhance our overall operational efficiency and effectiveness

  • Ensure that business partner needs are being met and that assignments are delivered on time by participating in project/planning meetings and communicating regularly with the team and appropriate managers

  • Proactively engage and interact with internal business partners to create relationships that deliver value

  • Proactively network with IT teams and external sources in search of technologies that can add business value

  • Be responsible for training users on new information technology solutions

  • Understand and work within the framework of a variety of project delivery methodologies and the IT Operating Model

  • Understand the nature of the proposed business process change and help business partners drive appropriate change management

  • Responsible for all team management aspects and executing the HR processes for the team

  • Create an annual plan and budget to meet team's sustain needs and customer's demand

  • Recruit staff and manage performance of the team

  • Be responsible for career development of members of the team

  • Support strategic and operational governance processes of the organization

  • Manage constantly changing demand, business requirements, priorities and project portfolio

  • Manage the interaction, collaboration and coordination across end users and other IT business partners

  • Understand what is important to stakeholders when considering options and making decisions

Our requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or other related discipline or related experience.

  • 9+ years of experience

  • 2+ years of IT leadership experience

  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies

  • Ability to analyze business processes, problems and document the steps by utilizing modeling tools

  • Ability to gather business requirements

  • Must have a solid understanding of the business/process area as well as knowing and understanding how to work with other IT groups to accomplish goals

  • An understanding of various project management methodologies and use of IT project tools

  • Effective written and verbal communications

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent facilitation skills

  • Technical skills in SharePoint and reporting/analytics tools

  • Successful implementation and process improvement experience

  • Technical expertise

  • Fluency in English
