About the project

IT Network Security specialist who will be working as a part of the Network Functions Team. This candidate must have good understanding of Blue Coat Proxy, Network Security and related Networking protocols - OSI model, TCP / UDP, connection state etc. Will be responsible to deliver complex Projects, Service requests and must have hands-on experience in Blue Coat proxy technologies/troubleshooting to handle priority Incidents on Proxies in large scale environment.

In addition, this resource should be familiar with Perimeter security concepts - DMZ, multi-tier security zones etc, understanding of Checkpoint firewall and Cisco Routers/Switches. The team is adopting an agile working approach with regular stand-ups and task management. Individuals are expected to be self-sufficient and would be empowered to do so but also work as part of a team.

Your responsibilities

  • Blue Coat Proxy – working knowledge of Proxies in large scale environment.

  • Check Point Firewall- working knowledge of large scale firewalls, policy format and amendments. Understand standard NAT policy and policy download process

  • Troubleshooting - ability to identify network issues based on variety of tools / methods - packet captures, specific devices (Proxies, Firewalls and Routing/Switching) connection logging.

  • Ability to work through strict processes and compliance.

  • Maintain critical timescales for delivery

  • Work as part of a team and be self-motivated

  • Vendor Product Specific Knowledge

  • CISCO - basic knowledge of routing and switching concepts and IOS

  • General understanding of Load Balancing techniques with an exposure to F5 Technology

  • Troubleshooting and vendor management in case of error in the environment and functionality

  • Create documentation for the team which is helpful to do the job

  • Work on incident & problem management, permanent issue fix and production support

  • Proxy Skills: Blue Coat, Zscaler.

  • Perimeter Security: Check Point Firewalls.

  • Routing and Switching: Cisco.

  • Experience working within large-scale enterprise IT environment.

  • Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong networking and collaboration skills.

  • Strong communication skills across organisation levels.

  • Strong problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills.

  • After hours support during delivery.

Optional

  • Experience in Load Balancing Technologies: F5 LTM and GTM.

  • Good understanding on external Cloud Provider (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure).

  • Strong technical background preferred and/or experience to equivalent level.

  • Quality awareness and a strong understanding of services.

  • Experience working with automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, CI/CD.

  • Experience working with DevOps tools e.g. GitHub, Jira, Confluence.
