About the project

We are looking for an experienced IT Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Akademeia High School community, which is already a well-established international school in its fifth year of operation. The school boasts a vibrant academic environment with fantastic faculty members and an upbeat administrative team.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensure that the School has a professional, customer-focused, well maintained and functional IT system that supports teaching and learning, both online and stationary, and facilitate the daily operational management of the School.

  • Develop and review IT policies, including those relating to safeguarding and internet usage, Data Protection and Information Management (including data transfer) and report any concerns. Lead on the strategic vision for IT security systems and services across the School so that the services provided reflect the rapidly changing environment.

  • Maintain a strategic plan for development of the School Management System - plan and manage project communications, ensure effective exchange of project information and deliverables, identify, analyse, prioritise, mitigate, and communicate project risks

  • Develop and maintain a plan for IT Network improvements and the renewal of equipment and other IT resources. Have an awareness of changes and latest innovations in IT within the education sector

  • Liaise with all 3rd party IT companies to ensure that services meet the needs of the School

  • Oversee the operation of Audio-Visual services and systems at the School

  • Ensure that staff and students are supported and helpdesk requests are dealt with quickly and efficiently and resolved properly (Windows 10/11, macOS operating systems)

  • Manage the IT budget and determine IT needs.

Our requirements

  • A Master or Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT security

  • Very good English written and spoken (at least level B2)

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar IT role

  • A passion for a wide range of enterprise grade infrastructure technology is essential (networking, server and endpoint, cloud, security)

  • Experience of working with and supporting a range of information technologies, for example:

  • Google technologies

  • Microsoft technologies: Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Office 365, Azure, Windows, AD, Server and Exchange, Microsoft Teams/ClickMeeting

  • Networks: network switches, wireless networks, routers, cabling infrastructure, Mikrotik, Fortigate, UniFI

  • Cyber security: firewalls, web filters, advanced protection and recovery

  • Cloud technologies

  • Audio visual hardware and systems

  • Q-vision, PRTG, ServiceDesk, DesktopCentral,

  • Ability to establish priorities and manage time in order to meet agreed targets and deadlines with a minimum of supervision

  • Organisational skills – ability to multi-task a variety of duties

  • Ability to keep calm under pressure when necessary

  • Approachable and supportive team player, providing technical guidance and help as required to teachers and students

  • Technology enthusiast who is good with people and enjoys solving problems – keen to learn and gain experience with new technologies and their use in an education environment

  • Ability to establish priorities and manage time in order to meet agreed targets and deadlines with a minimum of supervision

  • Organisational skills – ability to multi-task a variety of duties

  • Ability to keep calm under pressure when necessary
