Hitachi ABB Power Grids IT have initiated an IT Transformation program for the set up and migration to a new “stand alone” global IT environment. We are looking for a talented IT individual to be part of building and operating a new IT function equipped to meet our future needs. As part of the new environment there will be multiple vendors supporting PG operation and the IT Operational Vendor Manger will work across the PG IT departments and infrastructure vendors to provide a consistent framework to manage and improve overall value, risk, and performance for PG. Leading a small cross-functional team you will take ownership of the framework and standards for vendor relationships and work closely with Infrastructure, Sourcing and Strategic Alliances departments to build positive Vendor Relationships, Performance Management, Governance and Financial Management. Your responsibilities

  • Collaborating closely with the Infrastructure Product Groups, Regional Delivery Leads, Service Integration Department, and IT Controlling [Finance] to implement and improve an effective Operational Vendor Management process and service model, with clarity of roles and responsibilities across end-to-end service provision.
  • Monitoring productivity and quality performance against contractual obligations to ensure and improve overall effectiveness of vendor provided services.
  • Ensuring vendor performance issues and disputes are tracked, handled, and resolved by means of a standardized process.
  • Alignment with Strategic Alliance & IT Sourcing to ensure vendor performance and strategic direction is aligned to respective category sourcing strategies.
  • Driving continuous improvement activities by means of root cause analysis and pattern analysis of key vendor issues; collaboration with cross-functional internal and external functions to aid the design and implementation of OVM enhancements over time.
  • Enabling continuous monitoring of vendor performance against contractual service level agreements through creation of vendor performance dashboards, scorecards and/or reports.
  • Developing, owning and improving the efficiency and transparency of the vendor finance and invoicing process. Acting as the senior point of contact for PG’s Regions and Business Units for queries and escalations, and liaise closely with Senior Vendor personnel to ensure clarity of information between them and PG.
  • Driving internal PG partner compliance with OVM framework; continuously advising and engaging with partners and colleagues involved in vendor relationships and act as an advisor.
  • Measuring, managing and reporting on partner satisfaction related to each vendor relationship.
  • Executing, for assigned tasks, all actions in IT processes according to agreed RACIS. Ensuring teams adhere to IT process framework and governance model. Acting as escalation point and resolve disputes arising in relation to IT business facing support and infrastructure services.
  • Ensuring (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed, in line with both departmental goals and wider HR guidelines (i.e. Diversity). Guiding, motivating and developing direct and indirect subordinates. Managing direct reports, including performance management, total reward, and development/training.

Your background

  • Master/Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or 8+ years of experience in IT Vendor Management or Service Delivery Operations.
  • Min. 5 years of experience in IT Vendor Management including past exposure to operations management and outsourcing suppliers.
  • Proven experience in repeated implementation of successful corporate level end user support programs; strong ownership and leadership demonstrated with a success track over previous assignments.
  • Strong reactive and proactive mindset to establish sense-of-urgency to remediate and at the same time identify and eradicate root-causes of service deterioration.
  • Extensive people and remote team management experience required.
  • Experience with managing vendors; IT supplier selection, contract negotiation and RFP process.
  • Good knowledge of ITSM tools (ServiceNow), MS Office Products, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma
  • Excellent business writing and presentation skills in English.
