Your responsibilities

  • Proactively define future roadmap of the strategic WMS solution with regards to release upgrades and roll-out strategy, considering the strategic direction of the company around logistics, the dependencies WMS might have from/to other programs and overall efficiency in running the WMS landscape

  • Collaborate with the Core team, other relevant DSV departments to support the delivery of business requirements with the standard DSV warehouse systems solutions and identify solutions for potential gaps

  • Support and work with Core team to maximize coding standardization and reusing existing solutions

  • Participate in discussions with Enterprise Architects in any technology driven initiatives

  • Advise and work with technical team to adapt new technologies which benefits the organization

  • Continuous improvement of the standard warehouse solutions for faster implementation within the regional sites and support the creation of further regional and global standard solutions in the logistics space together with the other regional and global teams

  • Maintain and develop the WMS and surrounding applications with high focus on standardization and code reusability, clear and understandable documentation

  • Research new opportunities for increasing productivity and growing profit within the function of WMS system. Collaborate with DSV ITO teams and solutions IT team in delivering those functionalities

  • Implementing automated testing and deployments for WMS solution

Our requirements

  • 10+ years professional experience in a transportation, logistics or supply chain management related role, preferably within the 3PL industry

  • Experience in designing, developing, and implementing logistics enterprise systems like warehouse management

  • Preferably having knowledge with Blue Yonder WMS (Dispatcher WMS)

  • Experienced in full systems life cycle, covering functional and technical solution design, architecture design

  • Able to understand, formulate and challenge functional specifications

  • Has extensive supply chain knowledge, well understood how to align new IT technology, processes and business with each other to create the company's core capabilities and values

  • Superior and practical application/API design and programming skills (C# or Java or Python).

  • Good knowledge of and experience with relational databases and SQL and PL/SQL

  • Able to set up and maintain pipeline scripts, such as Jenkins or other deployment automation solution

  • Proven experience with cloud-native common platform tools

  • Knowledge of infrastructure landscapes and operating systems (windows/linux)

  • Knowledge of shell scripting

  • General knowledge of working with different 3rd party SW providers

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral and the ability to tailor these to the audience

  • Ability to work in a diverse multi-cultural environment

  • Ability to move forward successfully with minimal direction: self-motivated & autonomous

  • Capable of remaining professional & effective under workload

  • Strong analytical skills in relation to logistics processes and the ability to translate these into the standard processes within a tier 1 WMS solution

  • Pro-active and willing to involve stakeholders in decision making process when needed

  • Ready to take personal accountability for achieving individual and shared goals

  • Able to influence and convince others in a way that results in acceptance, agreement and overall, more efficient, and profitable logistics environment

  • Credible with vendor, Internal IT departments, internal / external customers, peers, and staff

  • High commitment and positive attitude in the face of setbacks and obstacles
