About the project

As the IT Technical Project Manager (m/f) you will shape and lead the R&D program with full accountability for QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) and cope with the unique challenge of continually focusing on a pro-active management impacting product development.

The projects include software systems/applications or hardware&software platforms developed inhouse as global projects with internal client & stakeholders within the line organisation.

The IT Technical Project Manager shall lead the team (10-12 ppl) with the view of the full project including areas outside own Value Chain Entity and to the overall company performance contribution.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide Leadership for global R&D Projects developing our product portfolio

  • Shape Project and Maintain schedule with on time delivery according roadmaps and commitments

  • Maintain workload and capacity in order to ensure proper balance

  • Manage Project budget and value adding governance. Identify appropriate mitigation of all risks and capture opportunities

  • Lead the Project Team members to successful completion of assigned tasks with the required quality

  • Interface to stakeholders ensuring proper communication and support for the team and program that leads to delivery on time

  • Manage scope of the program and track changes. Keep in target the customer’s acceptance criteria

  • Report progress and relevant KPI’s to the company management / relevant metier

Our requirements

  • IT/ Technical or business university degree

  • At least 3 years of IT Project/ Program Management experience in R&D or engineering of software and hardware development process

  • Demonstrates a strong communication and leadership skills to influence others with professionalism

  • A high degree of commercial acumen, couple with strong man-management skills at all levels

  • Customer orientation and ownership for all necessary actions to ensure committed delivery

  • Organized and result minded with problem solving skills

  • As a person you are self-driven, flexible with excellent time management skills

  • Willing to travel internationally for short periods

  • Fluent English – both spoken and written

Optional

  • Excellent technical knowledge and hand-on experience with Project Management tools and methodologies (a PMP/ Agile / PMI / Prince 2 certification)

  • Knowledge of Alstom’s signalling products and systems
