About the project
We work in rather small teams – usually three to six developers. We decide on our own agile process and choose the right tools for the job. Retrospectives form the basis of incremental process improvement, but other than that, we try and implement different approaches as seen fit. Everyone stays busy but never overwhelmed by the amount of work we have. This leaves us time to try out new technologies and ideas. Our working hours are flexible (but not extensible!) – some of us start as early as 7 AM, while others start as late as 11 AM. You also won’t need to plan your vacation with six months in advance ;)

What do we do
Our team collects data related to travel services (electric vehicle charging stations and speed cameras). This data is then made available to other internal TomTom services in a unified form. They, in turn, provide additional services (search, navigation) on top of that data and deliver it to the end-customers.
On the technical side, our products are Azure and Kubernetes based microservices written in a mixture of JVM programming languages. We embrace the DevOps culture through technical excellence on an end-to-end basis – taking care of the automation, infrastructure, testing, backend code, and, occasionally, frontend as well.

We’re Search PU, a product unit within TomTom’s Location Technology Products technical unit. We develop our Search APIs that is used by a wide variety of customers. These products are integrated into other TomTom products and used by TomTom Automotive and Enterprise to provide businesses big and small with the technologies they need to build next-generation location experiences. On our team, you’ll play a role in taking us, and the world, forward.
