About the project

We are looking for an Engineer for a growing international initiative to unleash the power of data and technology. We develop a suite of next-generation, cloud-native data products. Our suite includes an automation and personalization platform, an ad server, and a natural language processing engine, all catered to leading news media brands owned by Ringier AG and RASP.

Your responsibilities

  • Application and platform development across all the phases, including research, design, testing, integration, rollout, and maintenance

  • Collaboration and making proposals for the ongoing improvement of team practices to make the team more effective

  • Solving technical issues and troubleshooting systems at scale

  • Working on ways to improve existing CI/CD processes

  • Interact with Solution Architect, Customers and other External Stakeholders as a consultant and spokesperson

Our requirements

  • Proficiency in using JVM languages (Java 11) and frameworks (Spring Boot)

  • Experience in developing and maintaining systems based on microservices architecture

  • "You build it, you own it, you run it” mindset

  • Basic understanding of Web technologies (HTTP, REST APIs, cookies, CDN/caching, etc.)

  • Willingness to learn new technologies and languages (e.g. Kotlin, Python)

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking

Optional

  • Familiarity with cloud computing on AWS (RDS, Kinesis, EKS, Athena, DynamoDB, etc.)

  • General understanding of Machine Learning (including recommendation algorithms)

  • Experience with BigData technologies (Spark, Flink, Airflow, Druid)
