About the project
As Junior Application Developer you will be member of GDS Quality Team based in Wroclaw, Poland. You will be highly involved in the operational work and you should have good knowledge and experience in at least one technology of relevance or in the business solution process.
You will report to the Delivery Manager (DM) who has the overall responsibility for the Delivery. Terms, conditions and commitments for service deliveries are established and documented and formally introduced or delegated to you by the DM. You will collaborate closely with the Development Teams and other Delivery Leaders on business aspects of the daily delivery. You will be part of Quality Team that works with 3rd line application functional support and/or other maintenance activities, production environments monitoring.

The Global Dealer System team cannot wait to welcome their new Application Developer in a Quality Team in Wroclaw to support the IS/IT organization of Volvo Trucks and its digital transformation. You will join Group IT – Commercial Solutions team in the Solution Center which is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the IS/IT systems used by the Volvo Trucks dealerships. You will work on new development related to several digital initiatives around Retail Solution.
Your responsibilities
Deliver application operation support within SLA with the focus on Incident and Problem Management
Troubleshoot complex problems, coupled with analytical and debugging skills necessary to analyze issues related to issues in RPG code, ability to modify programs, write fix programs to correct data, if necessary
Monitor application performance and implement optimizations in order to minimize outages
Demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks and incidents through to restoration and collaborate with other support teams within the organization and external suppliers
Coordinate activities and communicate with impacted stakeholders as per incident management process
Our requirements
- Willingness to learn RPG, CL programing languages in order to become IBMi (iSeries) Application Developer
- Willingness to work together in a shared international DevOps team to support development, bugfixing and improving application performance and robustness
- Ability to use English in daily communication
- Good time-management, organizational, multi-task and prioritization skills
- understanding how relational database works in general, be able to create own SQL queries
- have an experience in development on high level programming languages e.g (Python, C++ , Visual Basic, Delphi, Perl, PHP, Ruby, C#, Java)
- experience in Linux/UNIX will be a plus
- Student in 3rd, 4th or 5th year of study (IT or technical students are welcome)
