What your role will be based on? / What are your team key projects?

The Advanced Design Tools is a GE Infrastructure-wide organization that develops engineering tools and software used across all businesses. The group is responsible for the physics-based tools (CFD, Heat Transfer, Aeromechanics, Stress & Life and Combustion) that design engineers use to produce, analyze and optimize their designs in the Aviation, Power and Renewables businesses.

Your responsibilities

We are looking for software developer of desktop engineering applications (Windows, Linux) used on daily basis by engineers of GE Aviation, Power and Renewables businesses. Design of such applications is focused on friendly and intuitive user interface with 3D visualization and capabilities to manage and communicate with external concurrent processes led by other engineering applications.

In this role, you will become part of a team that is responsible for development of the modern framework used in many design tools. You will have chance to work with the newest implementations of databases, data structures, user interfaces and code parallelization. You will have chance to realize and test your ideas in agile environment.

- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

- Recommend, with guidance, the approach to meet the technical and program requirements.

- Participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews.

- Prepare action plans to anticipate and respond to problems.

Our requirements

  • BSc in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or equivalent

  • Experience in development of Object-Oriented code with C++.

  • Experience in scripting language: Python or similar

  • High emphasize on modularity, testing and application of design patterns.

  • Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.

  • Interest in 3D visualization and GUI programming.

  • Team worker, hard worker, fast-learner, open- minded person, optimistic attitude

Optional

  • Experience with CMake is a plus

  • Experience in Qt framework is a plus
