About the project
KMD is looking for a Kotlin Backend Developer to join our new Utilities team. We are working together with our partner, a Norway-based start-up, Greenbird (www.greenbird.com).
There is a revolution going on in the energy business. Utilities depending on yesterday’s business models will be outsmarted by digital utilities that will serve society in need of smarter energy solutions.
Unlike a traditional approach for system integration for utilities, Greenbird offers out-of-the-box system integration for digital utilities. Forget about failing integration projects, hard-to-maintain solutions, and traditional middleware slowing down innovation
Our current tech stack includes Kotlin, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Jetty, Jersey, REST, ELK, Docker, Azure, GCP. The team size is 10+ and it is based in Poland, Norway, and Denmark.
Your responsibilities
Working as part of a small team located in Poland, Norway, and Denmark on a cutting-edge solution
Designing distributed solutions with JVM based programming languages on containerized platforms
Implementing and building the designed solutions for our customers
Our requirements
2+ years of back-end development experience in JVM based programming
Strong programming skills within related frameworks
Experience with agile development methodology and test-driven development
Optional
Have experience within Kotlin, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Jetty, Jersey, REST, ELK, Docker
Have experience developing highly scalable and robust backend services in a cloud environment (Azure or GCP)
Have an interest in the integration area
Are familiar with Git, Confluence, Jira, Nexus, Maven, NPM, CI/CD (Concourse/CircleCI), Kubernetes, Helm
Have experience from the energy/utility sector
