Your responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ability to produce high quality work according to the internal metrics (KPIs) and SLAs

  • Ability to identify & deem relevancy of public records, as it relates to customer information

  • Possess an in-depth understanding of AML typologies inherent in individual clients and large multinational corporations and exercising sound judgment and observe the highest degree of confidentiality in handling the information received while discharging their responsibilities

  • Conduct a thorough investigation to establish the presence of AML typologies through an extensive review of transactions, determine any correlations or anomalies in the data based on reasonable expectations and prior experience and ascertain if activity between originators and beneficiaries have valid economic purpose based on their investigation & findings

  • Independently produce complete and accurate reports of their investigations, findings, decisions and recommendations for use by LOB and KYC Officers

  • Proactively identifies opportunities to refine a process and increase operational efficiencies

  • Contribute and support improvement of current Operating Model and SLA’s with other Wholesale KYC Operations locations and different LOBs

  • Participate in the development and execution of department goals and process improvements initiated by Senior Management

  • Identify formal and informal analyst training opportunities, mentoring and coaching team members on the job to augment formal training

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with other stakeholders by leading on calls, initiatives and owning supporting sub-processes

  • Support and lead team’s activities within the change management process.

  • Work closely with OCMs to address any identified control gaps

  • Support onboarding and training of new employees

  • Lead by example by setting up processes that adhere to the required risk and control standards

Our requirements

  • 4 to 7 years of work experience within the investment management, financial service, auditing, compliance, or consulting industry with a strong exposure to KYC/AML/CDD/EDD

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a business related discipline or equivalent work/training required, professional in KYC/AML

  • European languages – Spanish, French, German Portuguese, Italian – as well as Arabic would be an advantage

  • Proficiency in investigative techniques and pattern recognition and previous success in complex analysis and investigation with unstructured data populations

  • Exceptional research and analytical skills with the ability to analyze large amounts of data

  • Must be able to work and contribute effectively in stressful situation

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of staff and Senior Management

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines against a high volume work schedule

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, documentation and metrics

  • Highly motivated, team player, self-starter and able to work independently

  • Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to understand business functions and processes swiftly

  • Comfortable with change, ambiguity, debate, conflict and informed risk taking

  • Experience rolling out projects involving process improvement preferred

  • Flexibility of operating hours to include overtime, holidays, and weekend testing

Wholesale KYC Operations is a firm-wide utility supporting all Lines of Business in the completion of requirements to satisfy the firm’s Know Your Customer (KYC) standards. We partner with Global Financial Crimes Compliance, all JPMorgan Lines of Business and their KYC Officers and Client Owners and other utilities such as Client List Screening and Client Reference Data Operations to support and maintain the integrity of our Client KYC information.

The Wholesale KYC Operations team is seeking a KYC Operations Associate Subject Matter Expert (SME). The role is responsible for ascertaining that all KYC and AML policies are adhered to. The KYC Operations Associate SME will possess strong analytical skills, the ability to work independently within a deadline, take initiative and adapt to change. In addition, successful candidates are quick learners that will be able to readily understand banking and AML concepts and issues, exercise sound judgment and observe the highest degree of confidentiality in the handling information received in connection with their responsibilities.

The KYC Operations Associate SME is a position within global WKO KYC department. The role will assist in effective execution of customer due diligence process, specifically on Correspondent Banking Clients. The KYC Operations Associate SME will be responsible for deep dive analysis of customer’s transactional activity and assure that any high risk patterns of activity are explained and documented within the AAR report and any transactional concerns are addressed or escalated as needed, prior to final assessment by the client facing team. The KYC Operations Associate SME will be also responsible for production support on research and review (quality check) on final reports generated to ensure the consistent and accuracy of content and formatting and escalate any suspicious transactional activity.

The KYC Operations Associate - AAR SME will lead and contribute to the change initiatives in a seamless manner in close partnership with the global stakeholders. Ensure operational practices are compliant with relevant risk standards, policies and regulations to maintain an effective control environment. The KYC Operations Associate - SME will assist the client-facing teams to ensure all client KYC records are compliant with regulatory standards, and will ensure high quality and timely completion of all client-level due diligence. The role will assist in end to end operational activities through the periodic renewal process of all clients. The KYC Operations Associate will review the collection and verification of data performed to ensure all KYC records are accurate and complete prior to a final review by the client-facing team. The ¬¬¬KYC Operations Associate is expected to stay current with all regulatory changes and requirements around client KYC, Suitability and Documentation.
