Your responsibilities
- Ensure the portfolio of contracts in the business follows contract and claim management methodologies by internal standard procedures.
- Develop a contract strategy based on Hitachi Energy’s policies, customer requirements, and overall execution strategy taking into account risk, pricing, scope, and schedule with the sales team's involvement.
- Identify the contract baseline and highlight areas of potential risk in consultation with the execution team and summarize the most important contractual issues in a wall chart.
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of commercial aspects in the portfolio of contracts.
- Verify that both parties to the contract have fulfilled their contractual obligations.
- Establish and enforce standard change methodologies in the portfolio of contracts to identify changes and quantify the additional time and compensation due to Hitachi Energy per the contract, defines approval requirements, and communicates changes to the customer.
- Support drafting of Purchase Orders, Contracts, and Subcontracts and ensure that relevant (sub) contracts contain appropriate contract terms to protect Hitachi Energy’s interest.
- At the beginning of the tender phase, analyze prime contract terms to highlight areas of potential opportunity and risk, such as ambiguities, omissions, and conflicts.
- Start mitigation action before execution starts and seek advice from Legal to draft, negotiate and finalize agreements during the Sales and Project Execution phases.
Our requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in contract management or the law firm of the legal department or similar.
- Master’s degree in Law.
- Extensive experience in Contract Management functions and processes in project execution of EPC energy projects or similar industrial plants based on the FIDIC book and public procurement law.
- Experience from working within internationally staffed teams and with international contractual partners.
- Solid experience in change management, claims management and contract-related legal issues and the possible effects in the relevant areas of responsibility regarding the proposal stage and/or project execution.
- Behavior and dealing with foreign cultures (Ethical Conduct).
- Ability to negotiate in the English language.
- Systematic and structured working style.
