Lead Blades Engineer
Workplace: Szczecin

Are you an experienced Engineer with mechanical/material/construction background? If yes, apply for this position.   

Sales > SBU NCE > Blade Engineering & Support

Every year Blades Engineering team is analysing the conditions of over 20.000 Blades only in Northern and Central Europe. Blade Engineering & Support team is mainly responsible for making the assessments. These assessments are based on the yearly inspections that Vestas performs in servicing the blades.
We are collaborating daily with Vestas R&D as well as co-departments in other business units globally to reach world-class results.

Responsibilities

  • Understand product technology around blade construction and repair and communication with customer's engineers and consultants 
  • Respond to technology due to diligence requests by customers, consultants, financers, etc.
  • Develop and maintain region-specific technical documentation in support of functions (1) and (2)
  • Review construction Requests for Information for contractor installation modification requests
  • Provide on-site and in-office support for blade damage evaluation and repair methods
  • Completes corrective action projects to analyse and resolve failures of blades in Service 
  • Respond to technical inquiries from service personnel, project managers, and outside customers
  • Conducts studies to assess failure modes and effects (FMEA) and develop time to failure model

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Material or Mechanical Engineering 
  • Experience with glass and/or carbon fiber design and construction 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering with a background in solving problems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in German and English 
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in MS Office products and AutoCAD/ProE 
  • Experience in project management and systematised problem-solving methodology (8D, DMAIC, etc.)
