Your responsibilities

  • Lead Design Engineer / Hardware Owner demonstrates leadership in management of the design and in-service support of the gearbox components given for ownership. In this role you will utilize your expertise and experience to solve problems, develop and execute objectives affecting short-term and some long-term business goals.

  • Qualified candidates for this role will identify areas of improvements to design, processes, and procedures in the areas of Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality.

  • This position requires cross-functional collaboration with counterparts from other than Bielsko-Biała site to improve the producibility, quality and delivery of gearbox components.

  • Execute engineering milestones within post-certification processes using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures

  • Develop component design to meet performance and durability requirements considering manufacturability and cost targets

  • Proactively support and coordinate with other company departments and suppliers, activities (concurrent design, cost-out) aimed to product simplifications and improvements

  • Lead Design Change process

  • Lead Design Reviews with Senior Engineering office (CTH)

  • Contribute to field events investigation and root cause analysis adopting problem solving methodology

  • Provide technical support to Quality Notifications (QN) management by means of providing indications to manage defective components

  • Provide technical support to Source Substantiation (VT) activities

  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments,

  • Build and participate in teams addressing different initiatives and generic issues,

  • Support team in projects completion.

Our requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university

  • Upper intermediate (B2) spoken and written English

  • EU work permit

  • Open to traveling

  • eager to learn

  • practical engineering attitude based on knowledge foundations of mechanics and construction analysis

  • ability of transforming material strength theories into practical application in software and hand calcs

  • effective in problem identification and defining condition for their solution

  • ability to lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact

  • ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously

  • familiarity with FEM analyses and Ansys / Nastran software

  • experience with technical documentation and with CAD software

  • strong oral and written communication skills

  • strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • ability to influence others and lead small teams

  • ability to sort through information and timely taking sound decisions

  • ability to prioritize work and communicate openly in stressful situations
