This allows GE to control the development and construction, system integration, and testing of the complete units.
    Role Summary:
    The Reliability Engineer will support efforts to understand & improve reliability & availability of the Distributed Power fleet of gas engines. They will require the ability to interface with leaders across Product Lines and develop or improve processes aimed for RAM (Reliability Availability Maintainability) improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with other teams across the Engineering team and will be responsible for driving DFR (Design for Reliability) programs within DP

    Essential Responsibilities:
    • Work closely with teams across Distributed Power Service and Engineering team to support and lead complex reliability projects,
    • Provide RAM modeling for NPI (New Product Introduction) programs to drive DFR in the organization,
    • Provide fleet RAM metrics and monitoring,
    • Develop tools, processes & measures aimed at improving RAM for the Distributed Power fleet,
    • Prepare written technical reports and present individual results and project progress within project design reviews, NPI meetings and other forums within technology,
    • Provide engineering support to reliability oriented data analysis and improvement issues,
    • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
    Qualifications/Requirements:
    • Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Aerospace Engineering or relevant specialization,
    • Knowledge and engineering experience with statistics or analytics,
    • Experience with various reliability tools (Weibull analysis, failure rates, probability theory etc.),
    • Demonstrated English language written and verbal communication skills,
    • Proficient in use of computers and PC hardware, MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Word.

     

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Fundamental knowledge of reciprocating engines will be considered an advantage,
    • Ability to program in Python, R or similar software.
