Your responsibilities

An outstanding opportunity to join us as a senior Python developer in the newly formed Quant Technology organization within Quantitative Analytics & Technology (QAT).

Working alongside our financial modelers, your role will be to deliver Python-based solutions in areas including financial data analysis, model development and model validation. It includes designing/coding solutions and enabling software frameworks in Python and contributing/ assisting in the Python strategy for the group. As well as delivering solutions directly, you will also work closely with our modelling teams to help facilitate their delivery of modelling software as efficiently and robustly as possible.

Specific financial modeling experience is not necessary, but material experience developing numerical/analytics software in Python in a commercial environment is a requirement.

The current ecosystem includes a distributed computing environment with Python-based functionality exposed over a RESTful APIs along with modern development practices such as CI/CD. We value innovation and constantly look to integrate new technologies where appropriate. Our current technology stack includes Python 3.9, Apache Flink, S3, Git, TeamCity and numerous Python libraries.

Our requirements

  • Material professional experience developing numerical/analytics software in Python in a commercial environment.

  • A passion to continually expand your knowledge of Python development, libraries and tooling.

  • Proven experience developing software commercially in a CI/CD environment.

  • Experience with Public Cloud/Distributed Computing would be useful, although not essential.

  • Some experience with .NET (C# or F#) and/or COM would be useful, although not essential.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills combined with a proven ability to manage work effectively under pressure.
