EDC Aviation – GE design office – concentrates its efforts on delivering reliable and competitive product such as jet engines, helicopter engines, marine engines, as well as stationary engines.
EDC is a design center – we work on new ideas which are later on implemented into engine. When the design has been approved we overview introduction to manufacturing and take responsibility for the quality of the parts made by different vendors all over the world. Moreover, we take care of test planning and oversee when the engine is already running during the test. Our final responsibilities include monitoring the engine fleet behavior to deliver a reliable product for the global economy.
For nearly 20 years, our engineers dedicated their time and skills to develop family of world class jet engines.

The position is related with responsibility for executing all activities associated with hardware ownership of LM6000 components including design, manufacturing/field support, cost reduction.
On this position you will have opportunity to gain broad experience working flow-path parts: blades, vanes & seals, shrouds & hangers. Based on this posting you can be hired to LM6000 hot sub-section.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation of reported production non-conformances, substantiation preparations, recommending dispositions based on technical & analytical data. Signing off the non-conforming hardware dispositions (certification needed).
  • Technical-analytical support of customer inquires related to field serviceability-reparability.
  • Performing FEM, functional, stack-up analyses, to fulfil projects demand, based on sound engineering principles and in line with business standards, practices & procedures.
  • Formulate plans with guidance & communicate assigned tasks/projects progress.
  • Organization & participation in working, status, technical meetings as a presenter/ organizer/participant.
  • Broadening knowledge about applicable technical documentation, best practices, design practices, certification reports, technical memorandums etc.
  • Documentation of analysis & projects results, substantiations in the eDRB system in line with existing polices & procedures.
  • Consulting assigned tasks with technical experts, seniors & principal engineers.
  • Short-mid term planning, planning utilization to meet project and business needs.
  • Provide technical leadership to personnel/ cross functional teams supporting the assigned project, mentor less experienced engineers
  • Develop action plans with guidance to respond to issues/ problems
  • Lead or participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
  • Recommend, with guidance, the approach to meet the technical and program requirements

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • MSc/BSc in Engineering
  • Education in jet engines area
  • Significant experience in the jet engines field
  • Fluent English (B2 level)

Desired Characteristic:

  • MRB certification
  • Knowledge of the finite element methodology
  • Proficiency in engineering programs: Ansys Mechanical, Hypermesh, NX
  • GD&T awerness
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong technical altitude related to turbine components and systems
  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams
  • Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
