    Manager of Financial Services Documentation Team

    This is a combined role of Negotiator and Team Manager.

    This role is accountable for providing leadership and oversight to a 25 person team of attorneys/negotiators dedicated to supporting our global investment bank client in the drafting and negotiation of their financial trading documentation.  The Team Manager will play an integral role in developing and managing the team, which includes the recruitment and selection of team members, onboarding/training, support process and playbook design, performance measurement and management, and client relationship management. The Team Manager will also be responsible for keeping the team motivated and on track to provide exceptional service to the client.

    Our ideal candidate has the following skill sets and characteristics:

    Contract Drafting and Negotiation

    • Solid experience (may be concurrent with leading a team) in drafting/negotiating and completing complex documentation (particularly ISDA, repo and ancillary agreements) within tight time deadlines
    • Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills
    • Experience in analyzing business needs of the Client while developing and implementing innovative, effective solutions & strategies for key negotiation points

    Team Management

    • Experience in leading and managing a team to implement and follow a detailed process
    • Ability to assign and oversee work streams through analysis of a team’s skill and experience
    • Coaching & development skills
    • Experience in workflow management, team performance metrics & reporting

    Client Relationship Development/Management

    • Proven track record in building strong, trust-based relationships with diverse client groups
    • Ability to interface with customers and members of large organizations
    • Business acumen and understanding of SOW & SLA frameworks that govern Client Service environment

    Drive for Continuous Improvement

    • Quick to identify and resolve issues in collaboration with client and team members
    • Possesses an appetite for innovation, driving efficiencies by developing playbooks, templates, SOPs and more
    • Experience in change management during implementation of company-wide policies and procedures

    Collaborative Spirit

    • Proven ability to work collaboratively with different internal groups/functions and virtual teams
    • Demonstrated ability to work well with all levels of an organization (internally and externally) to provide excellent client service
