Do you know that by 2035 there will be 7.2 billion air travelers comparing to 3.8 billion today? This is a challenge we accept!
 
Sabre Air Shopping system is the one handling flight travel requests from travel agents, online agencies and airlines, to empower their search engines and agents to offer the most convenient flight options in the lowest price. This is complex organism, consisting of several components developed optimal way mainly in C++, is maintaining a rate over 7.000 transactions per second and is hosted on 3000+ of servers in four data centers together with cloud initiative. The complexity of business logic requires constant focus on code, design optimization and staying in touch with newest technologies to manage growing demand for processing power and low response times.
 
 
By joining our organization, you will:
  • Manage product development in all its aspects (project and capacity planning, talent management and project execution)
  • Lead, inspire and motivate a team of Software Engineers
  • Take responsible for developing team and providing effective, valuable feedback on daily basis
  • Build and promote a positive working environment for the team within your areas as well as other business areas you will engage with.
  • Closely cooperate with Architecture to understands, interprets and translates business requirements into the clear guidelines for a team
  • Work with technical staff to understand problems with software and oversees resolution process.
  • Assure user complaints with software are addressed. Responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
  • Assure team code quality and adherence to coding standards on projects
  • Optimize processes to streamline SDLC

 

Job Requirements

What we expect:

  • Minimum 5 years related experience in leading software development team; prior lead/development experience preferred (C++) or transactional systems.
  • Proven leadership skills, experience in hiring, growing talents and building a team working in Agile environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear manner to various audiences;
  • Ability to lead and direct multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Ability to delegate work to subordinate or less experienced team members.

 

What are preferred skills and experience?

  • 5+ years professional experience in IT industry with technical background preferably using C++ and SQL
  • Experience in leading a high performing team including, mentoring individuals or growing team performance
  • Deep understanding of the quality aspects coming with the software development processes
  • Practical knowledge and experience on Agile and Lean processes
  • Excellent English communication skills
