    Position Purpose & Summary:

    The Cargill Animal Nutrition (CAN) Platform consists of 3 Groups: Cargill Feed & Nutrition (CFN) and Cargill Premix & Nutrition (CPN) and Cargill Aqua Nutrition (CQN). CFN, CPN and CQN operate a global footprint of 36 businesses and close to 265 production locations. These businesses are supported by a total of 7 global leveraged functions (BOSC, RMS, SMT, finance, legal, HR and IT). BOSC has an Operational Excellence vision, based upon an Integrated Supply Chain approach and creates value by providing expertise and support in the area of general operations management; Environment, Health & Safety (EHS); food safety, quality and regulatory compliance (FSQR); supply chain management; Manufacturing Excellence and Capital Execution. 

    The CPN Europe organization is made up of 1200 employees and 13 production locations.   These locations will serve our strategic customer segments of Mila, Aiden Swine, Aiden Poultry, Dairy France, Export.

    The Manufacturing Excellence Leader is responsible for strategic planning, talent capability building, and executing & managing a process improvement/capital improvement project portfolio in order to achieve business objectives.  This includes overseeing the following areas: engineering/technology, production excellence, reliability excellence, continuous improvement and capital effectiveness programs in order to achieve improved productivity (optimized product cost profiles) and quality standards.

    Principal Accountabilities:

    40%   Manufacturing Excellence & Engineering Strategy and Project Portfolio Management - With Manufacturing and Supply Chain leaders – develop robust strategy and plans using Production Excellence, Reliability Excellence and Continuous Improvement Processes to drive improved margins, safety, feed safety and business results through the use of process improvement & capital execution projects.  

    30%   Lean Six Sigma, Production & Reliability Excellence Capability Build - Build capabilities within both Manufacturing & Supply Chain organizations to execute production & reliability excellence processes and programs; and use Lean SixSigma to achieve improved productivity & quality results.  Responsible for deploying a deeply rooted, pro-active and sustainable Continuous Improvement Strategy and Culture. 

    15%   Capital Planning and Execution – Lead capital planning and execute projects as needed. Drive improved Project Delivery Process and Project Management Processes.  Execute the RE Deliverables for Build Projects.  Assist with the development of technical specifications and best practices.

    15%   Miscellaneous job dutied:
    • Best practices identification and management, alignment with enterprise/corporate ME organization, 
    • Talent Management and Development.  
    • Provide regular and timely coaching to team members.  
    • Motivate for high performance and excellence. 
    • Provide an environment that supports personal growth and development for regional operations employees. 
    • Bachelor's degree and/or 5+ yrs experience in a supervisory/management role.
    • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt, with ability to become Black Belt within 1 year.
    • Managing complex projects with a high level of ambiguity.
    • Experience in effectively training others at all levels in the organization on continuous improvement tools and processes.
    • 10+ years in a Reliability Excellence or Production Excellence role or operations management role.
    • Business fluency in English.
    • Strong PC skills (especially within the Microsoft Office suite).
    • Challenges the status quo with BU/Function leadership and other stakeholders to explore new ways to analyze measure, execute and ultimately bring increased business value.
    • Strong analytical skills. Directly communicates and informs stakeholders for projects with medium to high cost and risk to provide updates on the project objectives, performance measures, issues and risks. 
    • Uses advanced counsel and knowledge to remove barriers to ensure completion of project milestones, and influences stakeholders to take action.
    • Ability to travel – 30-50% as needed.


    • Advanced education/degree specifically in operations, engineering or other related field.
    • Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt.
    • Strong business experience and understanding of Cargill.
    • Clear understanding of both CAN Production System and Cargill’s Corporate Manufacturing Excellence System.
    • Working knowledge of reliability practices or production excellence practices.
    • Demonstrated knowledge in mapping and documentation techniques.
    • Experience with statistical analysis tools and processes. 
    • Previous experience with six sigma processes.
    • Lean Manufacturing Training.
    • Business fluency in another language/cultural interactions preference.
