Identification of new technologies, especially in the field of automation and Industry 4.0.
Assistance in optimizing our production processes and systems in relation to Product quality, productivity, system availability and logistics.
Deliver productivity improvements and sharing of operational “best practice” within European sites.
Drive and deliver a continuous improvement focus, with emphasis on cost reduction in line with competitiveness within a European team.
Participation in international project teams.
Degree in Engineering and ideally first working experience in Manufacturing
Critical thinking mindset and effective use of technology.
Strong analytical skills, data driven and the understanding of Manufacturing principles.
Fluent English language in verbal and written form (German will be an advantage).
Customer focused and result driven attitude with a great understanding of the Manufacturing busines.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, organisational skills as well as proactive in solving problems.

An opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Process Improvement Engineer, reporting to the Production Manager. The location of the job is Germany at Pilkington Automotive Deutschland GmbH in Witten (close to Dortmund). Witten plant is a key player in providing the OE customer with high complex and innovative windscreens and backlights. Features like Head-up-display have been developed together with the Automotive customers in Witten.
The main purpose of the role is to frequently review current operational processes and develop new improvement ideas and strategies while using continuous improvement methods.
