Material Planner

The Team you will be a part of

The Supply and Logistics team is responsible for keeping the appropriate levels of materials and/or stock supplies with the aim to maximize inventory control and company sales. Organizes deliveries to meet given deadlines and customer expectations. Supervises and tracks the flow of materials and products from suppliers throughout the organization.

This role in summary

The Material Planner will manage a selected list of suppliers and their associated parts/components as their primary job responsibility. This position will plan, authorize, schedule, and control the acquisition and timely delivery of supplied material to support production operations.
 
The Material Planner will also help maintain efficient inventory levels and control obsolescence/excess/uncommitted inventory. In addition, this position will maintain open communications with Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and Engineering on any condition that may affect excess or shortage of materials for production.
 
The role is located in the heart of Łódź, nearby Łódź – Fabryczna (during pandemic we work remotely). 

Your responsibilities will include 

  • Coordinate timely acquisition and delivery of supplied material to support production and service requirements
  • Provide relevant information for updating and maintaining production plan
  • Ensure materials purchasing and continuity of material handling flow by effective communication (written & verbal) with suppliers and internal functions
  • Drive proactive and reactive problem solving with suppliers 
  • Optimize purchased material inventory
  • Support processes related to Inventory Accuracy, BOM Accuracy, Excess/Obsolescence Management, New Model Planning, Operational Issues, Returnable Management, Invoice Resolution, ASN Errors, Master Data Accuracy
  • Participate in the phase-out of model lines, control part availability for successful model line launches, and obsolescence when models are discontinued
  • Attend regular planning and project meetings, prepare and maintain standard reports and support ad hoc required reporting
  • Use own expertise to support Managers in people growth by giving, asking, and receiving the right level of feedback
  • Ensure proactiveness in his/her career development

Minimum requirements

  • 1-3 years of materials management/planning experience
  • Good working knowledge of Excel
  • Fluent English 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong communication skills
Preferred skills and experiences
  • Italian language would be a plus
  • SAP/MRP knowledge 
  • Bachelor/Master degree in Logistics or related field
