Mechanical Engineer - Advanced Engineering

This position is part of our Advanced Safety & User Experience segment in Kraków, Poland. Advanced Safety & User Experience encompasses our deep expertise in centralized computing platforms, advanced safety systems and automated driving, while acknowledging the growth in areas that enrich the in-vehicle experience.

 

Our mechanical engineers participate in the development of innovative user experience technology, ranging from infotainment compute platforms, integrated cockpit controllers and interior sensing, designed to enhance the safety and comfort of the vehicle cabin. Interior sensing is a new and rapidly growing area that provides life-saving products such as driver drowsiness/attention monitoring, seat belt recognition, and left-behind child detection, as well as convenience features such as gesture recognition. In addition, today users expect the same digital and connected experience in their car as they have in other parts of their lives such as on their phones or in their homes. To enable this, our engineers are helping transform the vehicle into a software defined platform. Our deep software and services capabilities allow us to integrate a broad range of leading service platforms - such as Android - into the vehicle, while our agile development methodology is unlocking new value for our customers and enabling new flexible business models. In this role, you will be supporting global engineering teams by building and maintaining demonstration systems and prototypes of the next generation of interior sensing and user experience systems.

 

You will:

• Develop mechanical concepts based on customer specification, internal goals, standards and known manufacturing technologies

• Perform and support mechanical analysis, simulations, models and prototypes

• Optimize mechanical concepts in terms of multiple criteria

• Identify technical solutions to a given mechanical problem

• Manage system installations in demonstration and customer-owned vehicles
