EDC Aviation – GE design office – concentrates its efforts on delivering reliable and competitive product such as jet engines, helicopter engines, marine engines, as well as stationary engines.
EDC is a design center – we work on new ideas which are later on implemented into engine. When the design has been approved we overview introduction to manufacturing and take responsibility for the quality of the parts made by different vendors all over the world. Moreover, we take care of test planning and oversee when the engine is already running during the test. Our final responsibilities include monitoring the engine fleet behavior to deliver a reliable product for the global economy.

Mechanical Systems - Lead EngineerNumer ref.: 134069
Activities contributing to the design and development of mechanical systems for engine modules and components as well as test stands. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and new technologies development related to bearings, sumps, shafts, seals, oil systems as well as pressurization and ventilation systems.
The Lead Engineer demonstrates leadership and accountability in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area of responsibility. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Roles and responsibilities:
  • Execute mechanical systems design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • MSc/BSc in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science Significant experience relevant to indicated position area of expertise
  • Executing analyses /evaluation of assigned projects, with limited guidance.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills and ability to reasonably set priorities for assigned tasks

 

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
  • Jet engines and/or test stands components design experience
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Due to license required activities only European Union and/or United States citizen applications will be accepted.
