Your responsibilities

  • Contribute to the formulation, review and periodic revision of work plans at national and regional level and ensure the systematic integration of MHPSS priorities and interventions in programme delivery across sectors

  • Establish close relationships and collaborations with local and regional authorities and government stakeholders as well as local NGOs

  • Develop and maintain productive partnerships, including leading and coordinating MHPSS work with local implementing partners

  • Coordinate and support the implementation of MHPSS needs assessments as part of multi-sectoral needs assessments; ensure ongoing assessment/analysis of local context, priorities and needs related to MHPSS

  • In collaboration with Child Protection, Education, Cash and Voucher Assistance, Health and Nutrition teams and partners, contribute to the identification of most vulnerable groups of children and caregivers in the community, and support the formulation and implementation of relevant outreach strategies (e.g. mobile teams)

  • Conduct/update MHPSS service mappings, provide quality vetting of potential referral options, and establish/maintain referral pathways and mechanisms in collaboration with Child Protection, Education, Cash and Voucher Assistance, Health and Nutrition teams and partners

  • Coordinate the reviewing, contextualizing and translating of MHPSS intervention packages, tools, activity plans and key messages, ensuring context relevance and sensitivity

  • Contribute to developing additional resources and tools if and as required, in line with current evidence and in collaboration with the MHPSS advisor and other sectors

  • Select, engage, motivate, coordinate, train and supervise MHPSS facilitators and volunteers and other MHPSS staff with the technical support of the MHPSS advisor

  • Advise and train (or organize external trainings for) staff working in MHPSS and other sectors on integrating key MHPSS dimensions in their practice – including PFA for child practitioners, basic psychosocial support skills, trauma-informed care, safe-identification and referral, paraprofessional counselling etc.

  • Collaborate with MEAL team on establishing quality benchmarks for the project and ensure improving of MHPSS programming based on MEAL data

  • Ensure project monitoring and evaluation in line with donor requirements, grant obligations and SC policies and procedures

  • Ensure preparation of timely and high-quality reports to be shared at country and regional level

  • Coordinate with the in-country advocacy, media and communications focal point to develop strategies for disseminating information, generating awareness and increasing visibility regarding MHPSS activities across Poland

  • Ensure accountability to beneficiaries and other stakeholders and promote meaningful child participation as well as support systems for age-, gender- and context-appropriate complaints handling and feedback mechanisms

  • Participate and represent Save the Children in local and global inter-agency MHPSS coordination platforms and relevant events

Our requirements

  • A post-graduate university degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in psychology, social sciences, mental health or other

  • Experience working with children and adolescents, knowledge on child development and child and adolescent mental health

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health & psychosocial support (MHPSS) programming in the humanitarian context

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including team leading and influencing

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Polish; Ukranian or Russian language skills are an asset

  • Comfortable with high levels of ambiguity and able to take decisions independently in fluid contexts

  • Understanding of and commitment to Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches and child safeguarding

  • (Desired) Minimum of 3 years of experience project cycling / project management experience

  • (Desired) Experience in successfully establishing and managing collaborative relationships and partnerships with non-governmental, local organizations

  • (Desired) Experience in working with migrants and refugees
