About the project
The Microsoft Senior Cloud Engineer role will be focused on providing project based work to Meritum's high profile customers based predominantly in London, United Kingdom. You will also be expected to provide a small amount of escalation and SME support to the 2nd line helpdesk team.
Your main day-to-day focus would be to use your knowledge of Microsoft on-prem and Microsoft Cloud to deliver IT transformation initiatives for customers predominantly in the financial sector.
You should be used to working in distributed teams that work at a high pace and deliver project outcomes to high standards.
You will report to a project manager on a regular basis and therefore you need to be familiar with working to deadlines, evaluating risks, and being able to problem solve.
This is a customer facing role, therefore you should be able to speak confidently in English to senior technical and business stakeholders.
Your responsibilities
Act as a subject matter expert in your given area of skills
Design and deliver on-prem and cloud solutions to Meritum customers
Report progress, risks, blockers etc to project management
Explain issues, risks, solutions etc to customer stakeholders using the correct language based on your audience
Work with other Meritum team members and customer's IT team to deliver a common goal
Author high-level and low-level designs and presentations as required
Our requirements
Customer facing, highly driven technical expert with the ability to design and deploy Microsoft technology solutions
Ability to hit the ground running from day one and require little supervisions to deliver outcomes
Team player with 'can do' attitude and coaching spirit, who can build effective internal and external relationships
Excellent prioritizing, planning and time management skills to ensure the key outcomes are met
Very good command of English (written and spoken minimum B2)
Strong on-prem infrastructure (Windows Server, Exchange, SQL etc) and Microsoft Cloud (M365, Azure, and Security) skills.
Experience of gathering customer requirements and turning them into technical solutions
Recent experience of migrating business to from on-prem to Azure and M365 and ideally mergers & acquisitions.
Good understanding of Microsoft Security concepts and best practices
Some scripting knowledge.
Experience of working with Virtualization technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V)
Microsoft Cloud Services Certifications in M365/Azure (Associate/Engineer/Architect level)
Understanding of change management
