    Successful candidate will be involved in experimental research work on new generation of high energy ultrashort pulsed fiber lasers. This gives the opportunity to gain scientific and technological experience and knowledge in the field of optical fibers and laser physics, a hot topic in today science and a big high‑tech market. The Scholarship will take place at Laser Centre at Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences, with great team of scientists of international recognition and high‑tech industry contacts as well as state of the art equipment.

    We search for
    a devoted young scientist who wants to conduct experimental research in the field of laser physics and fiber optics.


    • Experimental skills and knowledge in the field of optics, laser science or alike.
    • English language literacy.
    • An applicant has to be enrolled as a student of the 2nd cycle or of the 4th /5th year of long cycle MSc studies (i.e. first stage researcher, R1) in the field of optics, laser science or alike at the moment of the beginning of the work within the project.
    • Experience in research work in like fields and/or scientific publication record in like fields will be beneficial.

    • Contract: Paid scholarship, net 2500 PLN monthly
    • Job will be in the frame of the OPUS 13 project entitled “Energy scaling in all-fiber laser oscillators” funded by National Science Centre, grant No. 2017/25/B/ST7/01145.

    The application must contain:

    Applications will be evaluated by the recruitment commission in a point scale. The contract will be awarded to the candidate that achieves the highest score.

    The evaluation will be two stage:

    1. The applications sent by candidates will be evaluated and the shortlist of the best candidates will be made.
    2. The shortlisted candidates will be invited to the interview.

    The criteria are:

    • Competences of candidates in the field of the project.
    • Previous academic record of candidates.
    • Scientific achievements, awards and distinctions of the candidate resulting from the conducting research.
