Your responsibilities
- Contribute to strategic vision for building up the team’s development, and release infrastructure aiming to minimise release issues
- Ensure our procedures are compliant with the internal and external rules, policies and regulations
- Encourage good development practice to improve application stability and supportability
- Involvement in multiple projects across different technologies, often simultaneously
- Work closely with internal and external teams such as development, production support, and infrastructure in multiple sites and actively engage with other team members for both releases and BAU
- Work under pressure in a multi-site development environment with aggressive delivery timelines
- Investigate production issues as well as longer term strategic development issues
- Manage operational risk for the development team by maintaining good discipline in coding and team working practice
- Perform deployment and infrastructure related activities with focus on automating such requests
- SDLC automation and Building deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools (e.g. TeamCity, GitHub, Ansible and Custom scripts)
- Manage all code deployments and infrastructure changes to control environments in a controlled auditable manner
- Ensure robust Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity processes (ITSCM) are in place and tested to make sure applications are fit for purpose
Our requirements
- Knowledge of .net (.net Framework, dotnet Core) and build infrastructure (msbuild, TeamCity)
- Good scripting skills with PowerShell, Python and bash
- Knowledge of Ansible/Ansible Tower
- Experience with git (GitHub/Bitbucket)
- RTC or Jira or similar bug/task tracking tools
- Database experience with SQL Server
- Installation, configuration and hands-on system administration skills for both Windows and Linux
- Experience in service management practices like incident/problem/change management
- Good communication skills especially when describing problems and explaining solutions
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to be able to solve tricky technical problems
- Ability to work independently, prioritise work effectively to deal with a changing and varied work environment
Optional
- Experience with Monitoring, metrics, and logging tools like Grafana, telegraf and influxdb
- Experience with cloud technologies, PCF preferred
- Container concepts using tools like Docker and Kubernetes
